Hey guys, does Lockon works on Mac? Is there any WinXP Emulator to play winxp games on Mac ?

Thanx

Imagine running Lomac, which is a software with typical low resource requests, together with a software emulator of a Mac, which would be another software requiring little system resources. you should be able to achieve a rate of one frame per year!

I know there is the opposite, a Mac emulator for PC (PearPC, where the "pear" stands for the "apple"). But it is a software emulator for a hardware so it can't run really well.

Anyway there would be no reason to run Lomac on a mac (apart from the alliteration between the words)

Lomac requires powerful CPUs and powerful GPUs, and Macintosh don't have any of them at affordable prices.

With the same price you get a G5 with a X800 series card, you can buy a P4 or dual core A64 system overclocked to 4 Ghz (or AMD equivalent rating) and a SLI 7800 GTX/X1800XT config, which would wreak havoc with the Mac.

Money are not the problem, I just can't keep 3 computers on my desk ( I already have 2). CPU and GPU is not a problem too.. Just Lomac compability is the problem. X-Flight is the only Mac compatible sim then...

Other Macintosh Flt Sims:

F/A-18 Hornet Korea 1.2

Falcon 4 1.06d

Fly! II

Warbirds 2005

Doesnt that make you want to run out and get a MacMini ?

Oh thanx man! so is not so strange to ask sims for Mac.. good to know..

Anyway my beloved LockOn... is not compatible.. I need to switch my computers with Mac, so I'll have some space problems with also a PC just for sims..

I work in electronic retail and let me tell you that that Macintosh computers aren't selling very well at all lately (as if you guys didn't know this allready) ......

Even graphic artists that used the Mac format at one time seem to switching to Windows......

Yes and Mac does have a very limited selection of games to choose from.....

Really the only thing that's keeping the company alive is the I Pod.......

intel Cor i7-6700K

ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme

G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB

Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II

ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12

Windows 10 PRO

Thrustmaster Warthog

Oculus Rift VR

Then buy FX-57 or X2 instead of this dual G5 stuff!

Check PC magazine article (couple of months ago).

In Gaming this dual G5 was no competition for AMD FX-57 or X2 4800+

Imagine this together with the latest dual 7800GTX 512.

PS. Latest G5 Mac’s comes always together with these older 6800 Ultras (which I bought already in 2004  LOL)

DELL Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 940 2,93 GHz @3 GHz, 8 MB cache | 8.192 MB 1.067 MHz Tri Channel DDR3

| 512 MB ATI® Radeon™ 4850 | 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA | Samsung SM 2693 HM 25.5 " | HOTAS Cougar Thrustmaster |

I Love my Mac and it does gaming just fine but not all games are ported to the Mac sadly. So you most certainly need a PC for serious gaming. I have a Mac and a PC at my desk because of this. Best of both worlds.

That said... The Mac is going with Intel processors in 2006 and it "will" be able to dual boot into windows without the emulation issues of the past. So in the near future the Mac will be just as good at gaming as any PC on the market. When you done flying Lock-On you'll be able to boot back into OSX and enjoy.

personaly I think the alternitive OS to support would be Linux..so the question is dose LOMAC run in wine..if so could we have a instal shell if not could the future game ED games be written in such away that Linux support come down to a simple sh ./install.sh ?
