Hobo Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) Hello everyone, I have been reading all about the forums and saw how easy it was to build a simpit box using TigerSharkBAS' How To: Build a A-10 flight panel controllerpost. I decided to make one of my own. The box is 10"x6"x2" and fits perfectly in between my throttle and joystick; however I use my G13 for the OSB's on both MFCD's and comms (F1-12 keys). The box consists of the Master Arm Panel, the Electrical, and a few of the fuel switches. It's not painted right now, but that's a project for the future saying that the wire soldering was more than I bargained for. The hardware cost was about $100-120 (minus tools) to make. It includes: 12 - Submini SPST 2 - Submini SPDT 5 - SPST 4 - SPDT 1 - Momentary N/O SPST GP-Wiz40 MAX USB board 1/4" MDF Board I also included templates for anyone who would like to use it for themselves. JCook Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Good Work. What are your next plans for your simpit?

RpSPT Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Take your *"time" and run as fast and far away as you can while you still have an opportunity, remember to also shutdown your internet... :pilotfly: *[The amount of time and money invested into a hobby.] :joystick: But seriously.
stelios2000 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 nice try..... why dont you use this next time....think it is cheaper and has more inputs. http://www.piengineering.com/custom/xkmatrix.php
agrasyuk Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Nice little box. good starting point, now you just have to expand :) nice try..... why dont you use this next time....think it is cheaper and has more inputs. http://www.piengineering.com/custom/xkmatrix.php don't agree here. it might be a bit cheaper, OP might be even not afraid to tackle the challenge of matrix breakout board/wiring. but he is using toggles, and for handling toggles matrix is a bad idea anyway you slice it, diodes or no diodes. Hobo Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 This is just a budget pit for the time being. I have plans for a full pit later on, but I'm waiting on the ideal fast mover saying that's where my heart is.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted December 8, 2012 ED Team Posted December 8, 2012 Great looking box :) I have a budget built pit for all aircraft I fly, my left hand panel has toggle switches and is A4 size. I have my switches printed out on photo paper, then I just slip the relevant one on for the aircraft I am flying :) Forum rules - DCS Crashing? RpSPT Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I dont see anything wrong bying the board that is on the first post. Quite affordable price, and easy to use. But I would have bought the eco model and used soldering: http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_81&products_id=234
