fitness88 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) I use both FC2 and FC3 manuals and LockOn FC2 GUI Manual. Edited December 22, 2012 by fitness88
Xeno426 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I use both FC2 and FC3 manuals and LockOn FC2 GUI Manual. And what have you discovered with that use? Anything remotely related to the thread topic?
rrohde Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I figured out that you have to press the zero (0) on the NumPad to padlock, and the NumLock key to break padlock. You'll also have to be in an Air-to-Air weapons mode... Hope that helped. fitness88 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 And what have you discovered with that use? Anything remotely related to the thread topic? Because padlock as a general term can be used for a host of purposes. I just do a search for all references and look for what I need.

If you're trying to tell everyone to just search the forums for an answer, why bring up the fact that you've read the FC2 and FC3 manuals? If that's not what you are trying to say, then you are being incredibly obtuse.
Steel Jaw Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Fact: none of the manuals explain how padlock works. Now, does anyone actually know and can tell me please? Cheers. Grimes Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Options> Controls>Aircraft of Choice> View Padlock Keep in mind some missions/servers have it forced off. Steel Jaw Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Thanx for the post Grimes but I did check the bindings but I cannot tell what they are supposed to do. Ironhand Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) It'll lock your view on the aircraft in question. You'll know that it's engaged because you'll see a "+" superimposed over the object. It also has to be enabled in Options. It doesn't matter whether or not you are in an A2A mode. Works in NAV, too. Then as you maneuver, the objects stays within your field of view, if possible. If it ends up outside of your view for too long, you'll lose the lock. Just have to be within visual range and looking within 10 (5?) degrees or so of the object--in other words, almost directly at it. You should be able to padlock points (but perhaps not objects) on the ground, too. But I've forgotten how that is done--if it's still possible. Haven't had time to experiment. You guys should give the benefit of doubt to someone trying to help before thinking and posting the worst.
