Python Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Hi guys, has anyone in the UK used this site before? http://www.aqalabs.com/epages/aqalabs.sf/?Locale=en_GB&ObjectPath=/Shops/aqalabs.com/Products/2960720&ViewAction=ViewProductViaPortal They have the hog stick for £230, which equates to about $370. My history of being ripped of as recently as last week (a top rated seller on ebay!) tell me that when something seems to good to be true, it probably is. I can't find much out about this site, just that it is based in Birmingham. Pixmania also had the stick for £230 the other week, but it didn't last long and I couldn't take advantage of it over the expensive Christmas period. Next cheapest price I could find is flightstore UK who currently have it at £259 in the sale but every penny counts. Many thanks in advance. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
159th_Viper Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Not seen before, no. How much for shipping? Usually what they save on price they more than make up for on ridiculous shipping costs. Python Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Yeah me neither, that is why I'm being cautious. Shipping is £5 I believe so not bad at all given the size and weight of the stick. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Had a look at - Amazon dabs play.com The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Dave317 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Mine came from Maplin. I think it was around £270 ish.
Witchking Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Personal suggestion: Get it from a reliable place. You never know what you might get...worst case, u could loose all the money, second worst: U get a defective unit and u might have to spend all u save to send unit back to france (IIRC) to TM headquarters. Try doing a price check if that exists in your local bigger electronics chains. Thats what I did...found a cheaper price at a reliable CDN website and price checked it to best buy when they used to stock the warthog. Python Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Hi Witchking, I agree which is why I started this thread, it seems no one has used them though so Il give it a miss. I couldn't find a retailer that stocks the hog that price matches in the UK. I might be really cheeky and email a few to see if they can though, if you don't ask... you don't get ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Python Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Thanks, flight store have it for £259, i was just being tight and trying to save a further £29 as Ive seen it at that price previously.... i guess its enough for an DCS module at the end of the day. I'll have to just dip a little further into the wallet when I'm paid again though I think, I just don't trust sites I can't find any info on. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Soarer20 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Hi, I was searching for the same regarding aqalabs.com and could only come across this thread so thought I'd register and add to it. I was worried that i had lost my money to a rouge company. I'm upgrading my old i2 pc to buIld a gaming pc. I placed an order with aqalabs on the 3rd of jan, paid with paypal and had them delivered this morning, 8th Jan. I got an i5 2500k cpu for £137.48 and 8gb of kingston hyperx ram for £24.95. Delivery was £5.99 So yes, from my experience they are a real business and did deliver. Hope that helps anyone else whos searching google! Lol!
Python Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Hi Soarer, Thank you for taking the time to register and reply.... If you like flight sims your in the right place anyway and may as well stick around ;) I still haven't purchased my hog yet so I may give them a try after all. I guess if I use my credit card I'll be covered anyway. Welcome to the forum. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Soarer20 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Funnily enough, I'm building my pc to run FSX at a high detail and decent framerate, so yes, I am into flight sims!! I have yet to get a stick, so if you do end up buying this one, let me know how you get on with it!
Python Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 I will, it is an insane piece of kit however and may be overkill for me even lol. just fyi, the base program for DCS is free so you have no excuse to not try it. Just download it here.... http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en You can add modules if and when you like. I used to fly FSX a heck of alot. Since I got into DCS A-10c and then subsequently P51 and FC3 etc I haven't touched FSX at all.... I built my current PC for fsx as well. funny old world. Best of luck with your new rig. Get yourself a stick though, you'll need one. cheers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
