linden Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) I have received a request to make custom panel to the wathog throttle/Laste. Therefore i intend to check if there are more people who are interested in this? The idea is to do a panel where you can choose your own text/lines etc and on the panel. This way you can use throttlen for more games example the p-51. Its made so you can place it on the throttle and easy remove it. What do you think? Edited January 2, 2013 by linden
agrasyuk Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 That's a good idea of course. I'm planning to have several overlay pieces like that for some of my panels to better suit other sims I want to fly. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
Feed Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 How would this be held in place on the throttle? If it were me, I might incorporate a couple tabs and use the two bolts holding down the cover over the afterburner detent selector. Otherwise, a quick and easy cosmetic solution.
linden Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Im working on how to keep it in place, your idea is good, gonna see if i can incorporate some tabs or other to keep it in place.
linden Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Here is another design for the plate, both panels as one piece.
Dachs Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Nifty idea there! My suggestion for keeping them in place would simply be to use the protruding screws already on the throttle. I have used a table at work, where the plexiglas covering the tabletop were held in place in a similar way. Screws in the table and holes for the screwheads drilled partway through the plexi. It usually didn't move anywhere, and it was easy to replace maps and stuff underneath. System: Asus z270 A Prime, Intel i7-7700K 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, RTX2080, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD. TomDK Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Off Topic, but: How about a landing gear panel ? :) Cheers Tom My old, sold, pit: http://bilder.einzelart.de/thumbnails.php?album=74&page=3
agrasyuk Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 That does look better , accounts for all the switches and protruding screw caps it seems and as such not going to move. Perhaps you could share a DXF of that? Tom, I have landing gear panel in works. Are you looking for 1:1 copy of original or want some modifications? Anton. My pit build thread . agrasyuk Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Would you be willing to make panels for people and ship them for an appropriate fee? As for linden's overlay that one is obviously his work. Asked for dxf to save time drawing one myself whenever I get to the mustang. Haven't even got to installing it and not sure what I would reassign throttle to yet. As for making panels for others I'm open . Working on my own version of LG panel and mechanism to fit my framework. but I imagine those not building exact replica pits will need modified versions of at least that panel. So if anyone needs custom "fantasy" panel let me know. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project

hegykc Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Interesting idea! Think about other panels too, it would come in handy with the replacement throttle/grips I'm working on... www.replikagear.com
