warthogmadman987 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I probably could have done this another way, but there is so much junk to swim through i thought i could get a strait answer here. I am trying to buy a saitex x52 joystick(HOTAS). I have heard there are a few problems with some of its versions. Which version do i want to buy? I hear that with the 45 version that there was a centering issue with a plastic plate. Is that the same way with the x52. Are there any other problems? Also i dont understand the concept but i here u have to program it? (i see poeple asking for something like this and i wonder what does this do, is it that hard to program.?) Do any of these joysticks come with force feedback? Sould i by it from saitex, newegg, bestbuy? anything useful would help ps-I have never shopped for a joystick, my dad bought my last one, it was a microsoft force feedback 2.
S77th-Basscadet Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ive got one of the early 52s an apart from having a tiny dead zone ive had no problems with it what so ever, its a great bit of kit, as far as programming is concerned no problem easy to use software an even easyier profiler set up, got mine from a guy of ebay who lives near buy, my advice is get it where its cheap an reliable 'Basscadet' "just when you thought they stopped putting monkeys in planes"
SuperKungFu Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 X-52 all the way man. I got the newer models and its the best bang for my buck. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 get it from komplett, cheapest for uk, if u r in the uk. i got one on order cuz my 45 died, and everywhere else it was 99£. komplett = 75£
Bungle_uk Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 As far as programming goes. Lockon has quite an advanced button mapping system so you dont "have" to program the stick, you can just leave it as is and use lomacs button mapping. However I dare say u can do more again using a specific profile (programme)
Pilotasso Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I just arranged with my borther who is in the US to get the CH setup. Hope the order is made in time for his christmas visit home. Fingers crossed here. .

Unless you have an 8 button joystick, you're best served by using the programming software for your joystick.
Tracker Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 The X-45 has the rudder controls on the throttle whereas the X-52 has a twist stick for the Rudder control. The X-45 has a fixed right hand grip (which is barley big enuff for hands like mine) whereas the X-52 has an adjustable grip. The X-52 has improvements in buttons and such but the twist stick is a killer for me, I prefer the left hand rudder controls (pedals hurt my back after about 30 minutes for some reason). I love the triple mode, pinkie shift and banding features of the profiler / stick setup. Seems the only time I use the keyboard is for External views and Chat :) When all else fails, Eject then read the manual. Oh, and a good wingman helps.
