TeeJay82 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Like it says... tried running it but only the map seemed 3D.. it says compatible with dcs black shark but i guess thats the old standalone module... So my questions are as follows: 1. Is there something im missing (3rd party software ect.)? other games run 3D just fine on my computer. 2. Are there plans to implement this in the future?
Bushmanni Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Use search, there's many topics of this. You need to manually activate 3D vision for DCS from registry if I remember correctly. It will be awesome except that HUD will be useless for aiming in 3D ie. you can't hit anything which makes 3D only useful for casual flying. Daniel M Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 What Bushmanni said, but while looking for a NVG Trip screen fix stumbled upon this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96477
Weta43 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I use NVidea 3D from time to time (last night) . Turn in on in the NVidia control panel, works fine with out any registry entries for me... Ka-50, A-10C and P-51 have great, full 3d cockpits with 6DOF, others still have depth, but not 6DOF. All suffer from an error with the rendering of the HUD, that is a known bug & as mentioned above makes gunnery difficult. Doesn't make BVR A2A difficult, so FC3 is all good(ish) :) Cheers.
The_Nephilim Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 while using nvidia 3d you have to turn off Full screen in the Options menu of DCSW.. you need not do the reg entry hack anymore that was with the standalone games.. karasawa Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I think ED is too concentrated on the number of polygons. In fact polygon number alone does not improve graphics that much, but consume enormous performance of your machine. Look at the Ace Combat 5 or 0 back then, they have less polygons but the scenery looks comfortable and colorful, even though the majority of city buildings are 2D textures.
TeeJay82 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Thank you :) Ill try to turn off full screen mode and see if that helps
Mohamengina Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 The HUD not aligning properly and the frame rate makes the game unplayable in 3D for me. What I'm hoping is that ED get on board with the Occulus Rift when it comes out and optimise their game to work in 3D on that.
71st_Mastiff Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I think some guys are using the red green options, with more successful FPS. "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes.
