Mohamengina Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Is there a way to change the slew speed of the shval in the KA50? I find it a little fast when trying to lock onto things.
IonicRipper Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 If you switch to the narrow FOV (x23) it will be slower. Other then that, none that i can think of. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mjeh Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 if you have a HOTAS, bind it to axis. then you can lower saturation rate and have it on acceptable rates. By default, it is wildly oversensitive
doveman Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 if you have a HOTAS, bind it to axis. then you can lower saturation rate and have it on acceptable rates. By default, it is wildly oversensitive I suppose it would be great if I could use my stick axis whilst holding a button to control the Shvkal (currently I use Xpadder so that whilst holding my Trigger, the hat is mapped to the Shkval direction keys) but unfortunately I don't think that's possible, at least not without banking/pitching the helo at the same time. What axis were you thinking of? Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
mjeh Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 What axis were you thinking of? On the Warthog HOTAS throttle console there are axes specifically for slewing with the a-10 systems, these are the ones I'm using. I have no experience using xpadder, so I can't be of any help with that unfortunately. If you have an xbox 360 controller (they work on pc too) or a similar gamepad you could plug in that and map the extra axes, maybe?
Furia Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 This thread helped me a lot. If you have a TM WH, here is your solution:smilewink: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1581780&postcount=6 [sIGPIC]http://menorca.infotelecom.es/~raulurbina/ESA/banner_furia.png[/sIGPIC]

I do have a Xbox360 controller that I use on my PC, mostly for games I want to play on the TV from my sofa. I did consider using it as well as my joystick with DCS world for the extra controls but it's a bit fiddly as it tends to slide around the desk so you really need to let go of the stick and pick it up. I'm also a bit cramped for space on my desk at the moment. I'm building a new PC desk soon though, so I think what I'll do is incorporate a recess or something that will hold the controller in place so that I can use it with my left hand and still keep my right hand on the stick. mjeh Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013  If you have the money though, I thoroughly recommend getting a HOTAS setup. Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog is king of the hill, expensive but well worth an enthusiast's money. In my opinion, of course :) Saitek's X52 Pro is a more budget friendly alternative, but based on a friend's experiences I can recommend it as well.
doveman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Yeah, I did consider getting the X52 Pro but decided I couldn't justify spending over £100 on a HOTAS when I wasn't sure how much time I'd spend with Black Shark, so just got the Thrustmaster Hotas X for £25 instead. I'm using voice commands to do a lot of stuff in the cockpit which makes up for the lack of physical switches and the software (Voice Assisted Commands) only cost me £10 :) Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen

Didn't realize that voice commands defaulted to on or that I had a hot mic. I kept wondering why my plane would randomly dump flares at loud noises =/
Mohamengina Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I'm using the CH throttle for slewing the shval - see the middle right circular analog stick. I'll have a go at changing the saturation and see if that helps. It's a shame you can't change the slew speed in the shark like you can in the hog.
