Yup...exercises never really provide a valid comparison, they deal in "theoreticals". The exercises also follow a script that says "Red will do this, and Blue will counter by doing this". They simulate threats and countermeasures in much the same way computer sims do, although their "educated guesses" are a little more educated since they have access to more information. ;)

Could have been 17 but 44th_Eagle put up a good fight in his F-15. And I so wanted another eagle on the hunting wall beside all those hogs and the other eagle which is getting lonely. :p

BTW half of my losses were racked up by going to the loadout screen. ED is there any way to stop load changes after a sucessful landing displaying as a loss?

No thats true - But got some mig29S kills and its the same in my book (barring TWS silent launch).

I congratulate you for your good flying skills! I don't know how can you kill MiG-29S with MiG-29A! R-77 is far supperior to R-27R! If it would be the other way arround, nobudy would ever waste (app. 300 000 US dollars for AIM-120) money on active radar missiles.

Its all about tactics...maximizing the individual strengths of your own aircraft, while capitalizing on the individual weaknesses of your opponent. The trick is to get your enemy to fight on your terms...to get him to play in YOUR sandbox. ;)

In the EE conflict, the R-73's Pk was about 33%. The 9M had a Pk of 80% by comparison in other conflicts.
