MadCow Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I bought DCS A-10 back when it was 1.1.1.1 on Steam I believe. A buddy of mine already owned the game and convinced me that he and I would have a great time flying together. Sadly, he's gone completely AWOL for months now. I attempt to fly single player, but I get incredibly bored playing it. And it's not because single player is bad, I just hate all single player games. I've tried getting into the 104th server a few times, just to get shot down by BVR planes. Not very fun for me. So I'm looking for a group of guys who play at least once or twice a week (if not more) to join with. I'm hoping to find a group who flies the "right way" if you will, but also knows how to have fun at times. I don't want to be serious all the time, as flying while drunker than a skunk can be quite humorous. My current skill set is essentially: guided munitions I'm good at (easiest to employ of course), I can launch unguided munitions but I'm terrible at accuracy. I'm semi effective with the GAU-8. I just recently learned how to make mark points, and enter JTAC wp's into the CDU. I'd like to fly with a group that can help me increase my enjoyment of the sim aspect and teach me how to use the systems better and the right way. I'm no slouch though. I enjoy reading the materials and researching online how to do things. I just never get them memorized because single player is BORING and I only play once or twice a week.
Blooze Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) I think you would enjoy the Separatists Aggression mission on the 76th server. They have their own TS3 server as well. I have been hoping more pilots would take an interest in this mission and am convinced that if they did it would become addictive for those that enjoy a more realistic scenerio. All of the tasking orders are given with L/L coords so it does require knowledge of entering coords in the CDU. There are over 16 tasking assignments with a wide variety of targets. I don't ever get bored with it. Check it out sometime. Edited February 25, 2013 by Blooze [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I don't mind running it at all and the guys enjoyed it but it seemed extremely unstable and glitchy? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. What I do know is that everything works as intended and I have never had any negative issues with the server. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
NeF Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi! I just posted a similar post on french part of the forum (I'm Belgian) and I'm in the same situation, got convinced by a friend but he went MIA over Real Life territory. Being less of a busy bee I want to get in contact with people who are playing coop missions and willing to share a bit of knowledge while having good fun. I have only like 15hours flying on DCS but I'm learning well. I speak French, English, bit of Spanish (mexican) and Dutch.

I have only like 15hours flying on DCS but I'm learning well. I speak French, English, bit of Spanish (mexican) and Dutch. Seems to be a common problem. I've had a friend playing it for a couple of months, all but forces me to spend 400 dollars on accessories and then leaves. I've been flying campaign for the most part and just flying around learning how to use the systems but that gets old fast.
ApoNOOB Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 When i started the best thing i ever did was copy all the TS3 infos from the different servers (usually you will find it in the briefing) into my favorites. Everytime I join a server, i also join their TS channel. Also maybe PvP missions (like on the 104th) are not really for new players, there is too much to know and to be aware of. Stick to COOP and you will be at a level where you seek the thrill of Aim120's flying at you sooner then you can say 'crash landing'. :)

Sierra99 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 So I'm looking for a group of guys who play at least once or twice a week (if not more) to join with. You are always welcome in a -=TAC=- server. All we ask is you not act like an Azz Clown. trying to Dogfight everyone in sight and drop bombs on friendlies on purpose. We fly "Correctly" most of the time, but occassional stupidity is expected and welcome. (The phrase "Challenge Accepted" comes to mind...) Were on most evening between 4 and 9 PST.
