chappaz1977 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Hi can somebody please help me with dcs world because I cant get it to work on my windows 7 64bit ultimate edition, all I get when I want to play a quick mission is a message from windows saying it needs to close. I think this is a common problem and I'm sure people are sick of talking about it but I just want to play this sim so bad! I will include a error report for someone to look at and my system spec. Thanks for any help. BRooDJeRo Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) When you throw the errorcode 0x40000015 in Google you'll find allot of entry's directly going to microsoft software. There doesn't have to be a direct answer to see which direction this is going. Reasonable answers end up around OS-file or driver-file corruption or a messed up registery by doing god knows what or a virusrecovery if not even currently infected. First to try is reinstall C++ 2010 that you can find in the dist folder in the DCS game folder and perhaps use the DCS repair tool. When the above fails... Run a diskcheck and if that fails... Dont trust your current antivirusscanner too much and scan your machine first with a free standalone scanner from a USB stick. Comodo cleaning essentials works in this case on-the-fly. No need to install or de-install anything at this point. When the scan is finished it will ask to let the machine to reboot to scan the hidden systemparts. http://www.comodo.com/business-security/network-protection/cleaning_essentials.php?key5sk1=9ee16d87044905507dd53dd09c28fecf16ad5b15&key5sk2=&key5sk3=1361320319000&key5sk22=2230&key5sk23=1356796043000&key5sk24=&key5sk25=1361320340000&key6sk1=&key6sk2=IE90&key6sk3=7&key6sk4=en-us&key6sk5=NL&key6sk6=1&key6sk7=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.comodo.com%2Fbusiness-security%2Fnetwork-protection%2Fcleaning_essentials.php&key6sk8=115502&key6sk9=19201080&key6sk10=true&key6sk11=a026f5d1d178d2cb254f3de8e7860132a05135e7&key6sk12=2034&key7sk1=111&key1sk1=dt&key1sk2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.comodo.com%2Fbusiness-security%2Fnetwork-protection%2Fcleaning_essentials.php When the scan is clear and with no results you might want to look at your non-Microsoft drivers like chipset, soundcard, gfx-card, USB 3.0 and other hardware drivers for controlers. When the problem is still around it could still be corruption in the OS itself. Sometimes the problem is solved by a system restore, but that is the ugly way for granny's to fix their pre-installed Dell's. When i have errors like this and not solved with the above and even have to systemrestore it, it's basicly telling me that i realy want to fresh-install Windows. But lets hope it's just C++. BRooDJeRo Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Correct, the A10-C standalone is 32bit capable and World is for a 64bit environment so the A10-C module is too. Still running a X32 OS?

"Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 19/02/2013 21:40:13 Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A" Try this; reinstall outside the C:\Programs file\ instead install outside the Programs file like this. C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\ Try that first, as always with WIN7 64 bit allow Run as administrator in user control settings turn UAC off. this helps with running programs that C:\Programs blocks. subi Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi Chappaz I am not computer literate and I have no idea if what I am telling you will help - however I could not get DCS World to load because of a 0xc000007b error. I too have a working version of A-10 on the same computer which I acquired using steam. Very frustrating. I was fortunate to have a good IT guy at work - and maybe you will understand what he did. The problem was with the Msvcr100.dll file in my Windows 7 install. My business uses 8 PCs and the one I use at home for gaming was the problem. DCS World loaded and played on all 3 of my work PCs that I tried. The IT guy ran a program that isolated the file that was creating the problem on my home PC and he simply copied the file from one my my other computers to my home gaming computer. It now works for me. The strange thing is that I purchased all 8 PCs from the same distributors - how does something like that happen? Anyway - I have some understanding and sympathy for the ED guys. I hate to say it, but my evidence suggests it is the luck of the draw and is probably associated with the relevant PC and the Windows installation that you have. Hope my information helps you resolve the problem.

chappaz1977 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 It all started with dcs A10 cdrom and I couldn't play the 64 bit version, it just kept crashing. Then I downloaded dcs world to try that but when I installed dcs world it would load the title screen no problem, but when i try to play instant mission it just crashed. The 32bit version of dcs A10 works fine but I want to play all the different versions on dcs world but can't if it wont work. I also have lockon and wanted to buy flaming cliffs 3 which I believe is a upgrade for lockon but you need dcs world to work to play that as well. I've sent tickets to ED but so far nothing which looks like the norm. I sent the tickets at the turn of the year. The version of dcs A10 is 1.1.0.7. If I was to wipe the hdd and start fresh do you think this would fix the problem?
