I would have thought interviews are an obvious way to disseminate information. That's why journalists do interviews... ;)

 

I've worked that cirquit, and doing an interview piece is pointless if I don't have an angle to get something new. I did print, and why would I waste my readers time, and pages in the magazine, if there's nothing interesting and new in said interview?

 

(Exception for "interest-pieces", like when I managed to ambush the CEO of iD Software in the backroom of a pub in San Fran during a press event. Didn't get much "news" from it, but used it to get some info on how things work in general for the company and what their outlook is for the future.)

It's easy to understand. If something is announced on the foreum ,that means this baby is months away . Other means ,interview or something means it is still years away .

Nothing to be confused about, Matt Wagner aka Wags aka producer has announced this both in the official overview vid as well as this in-debth radio interview, and probably in other venues as well. As far as I'm concerned, that's about as official as it gets.

But, Fedor has a point that when something is revealed as scoop in an interview, it can be re-scooped at the core of your customers.

 

Perhaps it is a personal choice in communication to keep things speculative so that small or large changes in productionsceduals can be made without too much critics and kind of stay below the radar.

I hope they DON'T make anything official for as long as possible because all that happens is people start complaining and demanding features/aircraft/sceneries.
