rubblebeam Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hi, I updated to 1.2.3 everything was fine no problems at all. I was playing around with settings on FSX DX10 and all that, you all know what a Pain in the ass FSX can be to get just right. Anyway I went back to DCS and this happened Has anybody encountered this before? What happened? How do I fix this. FSX is fine The problem is with DCS. Kind Regards Good Grief
rubblebeam Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 May be REPAIR DCS World? Give it a try I tried that. No joy. I'll give i a day and see what others may come up with then I'll try reinstalling. Thaks for the reply Good Grief
Speed Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The problem is probably in your DX settings if you were messing around with them. If repair doesn't help you, I don't see how reinstalling would. You could perhaps try renaming your Saved Games/DCS folder to wipe your settings, but that probably won't help. There shouldn't be any setting that causes what you show to happen- but maybe, some sort of graphics algorithm is messed up and when you wipe your settings, you will turn that setting off. I know very little about graphics, but that does seem to be some sort of rendering problem. Some things are rendering just fine, while other things are not. Another possibility is that maybe your video card is starting to die, but if so, I would think you would see graphics anomalies elsewhere too. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Mustang Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Maybe its something with the mipmap/texture quality settings within your display driver? what make of card do you have?
rubblebeam Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the replies. Geforce GTX680 4gb. I uninstalled my display drivers along with all profiles associated. Then reinstalled. Problem solved. There's a lesson here... something to do with not playing around with setting I don't understand. A lesson that I probably wont pay attention to. Thanks again Kind regards Edited March 5, 2013 by rubblebeam Good Grief
SkateZilla Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 make a custom profile for FSX's EXE instead of doing global changes. i did the same thing a few weeks ago. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
