Thrakazog Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Howdy, Well.....I hadn't had time for DCS lately. However, with the current sale, I bought Combined Arms and was looking forward to getting back into things. However, the install alerted me that I needed to update from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3. and that's where the trouble begins. It begins the update, verifies local files, and starts downloading. Then after it's gotten to a certain point, the following error comes up: Can't download object http://update2.eagle.ru/dcs/objects//ad/ada054effe8123b63ef3dbb53f7 36532e98f9df0092d404e71d496d420e4fe9f: hash mismatch I get this whether I try to update or repair DCS. 1.2.2 works fine. But I need to update to 1.2.3. So, what do I do ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
Sorin Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Download the whole DCS and all modules that you have. Quite a big download but that should work. Then install DCS first and then the modules. It should upgrade your system to 1.2.3.
BigfootMSR Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You can still play without updating by telling it not to update. The hash mismatch is an error in the download. Not sure how to fix it. But, as Sorin suggested, you could manually download and install world 1.2.3 and all the modules yourself again as a work around. You should not need to deactivate or reactivate anything if you do this though. Thrakazog Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Not the most convenient of update systems, but if downloading everything in full is the way, then that's what I'll do. So, do I uninstall all the previous 1.2.2 stuff first, or just install DCW and all the modules over the originals ? cichlidfan Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Definitely uninstall first. Uninstalling World removes everything. There aren't separate uninstallers for the modules, in case you were wondering. Thrakazog Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 So, I downloaded DCS World 1.2.3 and all of the modules. I now wonder if updating to 1.2.3 by uninstalling everything from 1.2.2 and then installing all the new 1.2.3 stuff is going to use up my activations ? If so, a few more updates in this manner, and I'll have to buy the whole set again :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro

cichlidfan Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Reinstalling, even a newer version, does not use an activation since they are still in your registry. Thrakazog Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Uninstalled the old and installed the new, and everything seems to be working so far. Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my questions. See you in the skies :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
Thrakazog Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 It's seems I spoke too soon. The activation window keeps popping up every time I start one of my modules. I can hit exit, and it continues on to the sim with everything seeming to work fine. Will I have to just put up with the activation windows hounding me as punishment for updating from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3, or will I have to use up activations to stop them ? Any help is appreciated, thank you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
Thrakazog Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Just to update this thread, I ended up just re-entering all my activation codes to stop all the modules from asking for them. Hopefully future updates go a little smoother. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
