Scorch Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Right now, I've got a G940, but I've never been happy with it. I don't mean to be unduly cruel to the G940, but it just has never "felt" right nor have a been able to get it to work to a point where I can learn to fly the A10. With that said, I'm considering two replacements: I've got the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals which I gather are OK, but if there is something better please tell me. I can still return these to Amazon. It seems my only choices are the CH Flightstick and throttle or the TM Warthog. I'd rather have the Warthog, but I had a Cougar and it too was so frak'n sloppy I hated it and sold it. Those that have the Warthog: Is it usable out of the box? Is there any slop in the center? - I think this is my biggest concern Is there any downside to the Warthog (other than price)? I gather there were some firmware issues (bricking) initially but those I think have been resolved, correct? Any other thoughts are welcome. Thanks!
dburne Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I have had my Warthog about a year now, and love it! I would agree with the above response as well. And I too came from a Cougar, however mine was modded with the NXT Gimball mod as well. It was really nice, but now sits on the shelf while I enjoy the Warthog. And for A-10C of course, it can't be beat... I also got the Saitek Combat Pedals when I got the WH, and really like them as well. Spetz Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Just got my Warthog last night after flying saitek stuff for years. I honestly don't know why I didn't make the jump earlier. Direct plug and play into DCS and the smoothest stick I ever used. No slop, all button worked flawlessly and makes flying a joy. The only thing is the weight. I have to make a new mounting system for it that can support it. Highly recommend it.
Scorch Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 I'm in the US and the best price I can find is $439.09 at Amazon. Anyone know of any better price? Thanks.
metalnwood Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I went from the CH gear to the warthog. Love my warthog.

MacFevre Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I purchased a used Cougar stick and a Warthog Throttle. The throttle's ok, but the stick has a whole lot of play in the center. Approximately a half-inch on both axes! Now I'm in a bit of a quandary... If I try and get the Cougar fixed with mods, of which I'm not even certain they still sell, it would cost as much as a new Warthog. Yet I hate to get a new Warthog set, considering I've already got a perfectly good throttle. An, such is the life. As is, the Cougar is really nice, and would be fantastic with an extension and no play. Maybe, like a Warthog? :D my advice, go with the Warthog!
