China Hat aft short (missle step) may work, but that also selects the next missile and should not be necessary. I just slew the crosshairs off the target and to the next one. Are you saying that does not work for you? If so, you might try TMS down short, which ground stabilizes the MAV seeker.

I tried both of them ans neither work the crosshairs seem to be firmly stuck at the tgt/waypoint unless i china hat backwards to reset the tgp

All I want to do is slew to the next target

TMS down long - set SPI to current steerpoint

look at the flight manual page 82 ff - Cockpit controls. Nice overview...

Eh Paul- in this case it works for you because the waypoints are at your targets. In the future, just remember to slave to the actual waypoint is china hat back long... slave to SPI / Markpoint is forward long.

Also, to "lock" target with TMS up long I'm guessing you're just changing to "point" mode... but to get that mav to slave to spi- you'd need to set SPI with TMS up long. Then once you switch to your mav, you can slave the mav to the SPI with china hat forward long, lock and fire.

Eno locking isnt the problem its unlocking the tgt so I can shoot the tanlk next to the one I have just destroyed

Hm I have tried that tms down short does not work

Could it be a problem with the set up when i check the controls TMS aft =LCtrl+down but there is not a command for TMS aft long?

No! TMS aft long, simply means: hold the TMS aft button for about 2 sec.

Do you refer to the MAV view on the MFCD or the TGP view? In the MAV view it should be sufficient to simply SLEW the gate again, to break the lock. You may enforce a break lock with TMS down short (ground stablilize - MAV seeker looks at the point on the ground)...

For all this to work the MAV page needs to be SOI (Green rectangle showing on the MAV page and NO(!) "NOT SOI" indication on the MFCD.

China-hat forward long sets ALL sensors TGP, MAV, to the current SPI (the pointof interest indicated by the line). This does not require the sensor to be SOI(!)

If you have the TM Warthog HOTAS you should have everything setup correctly, by default.

Are you familiar with the SOI / SPI concepts, yet? If not, I highly recommend to do the HOTAS Training session for the A-10C...

i think that there is a problem with a10 so i will reinstall it thanks for your help

Check, that you delete the DCS folder under <your user>/Saved games/ ! It contains the configs, screenshots, tracks etc. you made! Make backup of it, if unsure.

This will take care that no old configs are loaded.

Again, not to be elitist, it's not that at all, get the TM WH, makes the sim 1000% more user friendly. All of these pains will go away. To much of a pain in the ass to map commands for short/long vs just using the switch.

I have wild respect for anyone who can fly this sim without good a HOTAS that recognizes short/long & also keyboard mappers & simple joystick players....I have no idea how you have the patience, dexterity, memory to do it.

Track IR5+TMWH= light years easier to use/learn/enjoy the sim.

I refuse to play/sell/advise it anymore unless all 3 are purchased at once. Should be sold as a bundle/only way to acquire A10 module here even on the website (ok so that's extremest sarcasm, but kinda not really lol)

It's to the point when customers ask about key commands I just tell them the button on the TMWH itself, as I have long forgotten the keyboard commands. Only thing I use keyboard for is 3 items:

1. G=gear (if I'm to lazy to mouse click it in cockpit)

2. Multiplayer tally score chart

3. Text chat.

100% else done with TMWH, mouse, TIR5.

Imagine driving your car with your cell phone on a text board/keypad and your neck locked in a brace holding head forward vs the natural hand on actual wheel, hand on gear selector, freedom of head/neck movement...
