Donglr Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 what the f***? The buttons are, - the knobs, like, aeh ... - transparent engraving, I ... how do you.. - the cutting BLOODY HELL! I'm dazzled - let me sort my thoughts, calm down... How to you make the transparent inlays for the warning panels, where do you find those rotating knobs and analog gauges and hands for those and the Nav-mode buttons for the EGI and stuff? Do you OWN a goddamn 3d-printer company or what?
metalnwood Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 what the f***? The buttons are, - the knobs, like, aeh ... - transparent engraving, I ... how do you.. - the cutting BLOODY HELL! How to you make the transparent inlays for the warning panels, where do you find those rotating knobs and analog gauges and hands for those and the Nav-mode buttons for the EGI and stuff? Do you OWN a goddamn 3d-printer company or what? I am going to take a stab.. :) The buttons are def done on a 3d printer. The engraving a bit deeper than a laser and the edges are chamfered so I say the panels are done on a cnc router. Frank is certainly on a mission and will have a pit in no time, good stuff :)
frank Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 MetalnWood - you are right - i have spend 5 month on mission planning and take off is done - now, stick to the plan and i will succed - i have build simulatores all my life - i have 1000 of hours in my packpack learning the skills - My mission is not only to build the A10C pit - but do it HIGH QUALITY FOR LESS MONEY - then it is possible for alot of people to get a complete PIT setup for small money compared to alot of parts out there... I fly the lead on this mission - you are all welcome to join my wing - over and out http://www.dcscockpit.com

Deadman Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Frank the panels look very good are they back lit? If they are the knobs look to be solid gray are you planing on being able to back lite your knobs? https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
frank Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) Hi DeadMan Yes the panels are to be backlight... No the Knob are not to be backlight.... perhaps on a later state... it takes a lot more workprogress to make the knobs backlight, and by this more expensive to buy for you guys.... The picture are in total darkness... put on some floodlight and you are rocking ;) Edited April 27, 2013 by frank http://www.dcscockpit.com
