NRG-Vampire Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Put trucks on the taxi-way to slow down the planes. :megalol: :juggle: :rotflmao: that's the best idea :D force to slalom by the way: everything is allowed in war and in love :smartass:
seikdel Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I'd hate to be the innocent Shark pilot who comes in a little too fast for a landing on the apron and accidentally overflies the trigger a little too low...
Exorcet Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I'd hate to be the innocent Shark pilot who comes in a little too fast for a landing on the apron and accidentally overflies the trigger a little too low... I hope no Ka-50 pilot is doing 100 knots at 5 feet off the ground. If they don't they're probably safe. At least with my set up. ENO Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I'd hate to be the innocent Shark pilot who comes in a little too fast for a landing on the apron and accidentally overflies the trigger a little too low... That couldn't happen because that unit number would be associated with the trigger in question. For example: switched condition / unit 1 in zone taxi, unit 1 altitude lower than 5, unit 1 speed higher than 50 / set flag 1001 on, send message to unit or coalition "don't take off from taxiways or you WILL die." (example) followed by switched condition / time since flag 1001 30 seconds / explode unit 1, send message "See?" followed by switched condition / time since flag 1001 45 seconds / flag 1001 false. These could be cloned for all aircraft actually applicable to the offense and none other. I'm still having some issues sorting out my continuous action / switched condition so that aspect of the trigger may need to change (not sure)... but you get the idea. ENO Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I'm not rigging this up for myself- but I'm having a bit of fun with figuring out how it could be done. I partly blame you, btw grimes... lol "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Grimes Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Heh with scripting and Mist it is easy... Trace runways. Search for clients within 5km of center of runway. (don't want to kill units making emergency landings). Parse clients by checking unit:inAir() == false and to see if they are inside the runway defined zone. If they aren't on runway use unit:getVelocity(). If velocity is above a certain value send text warning specifically to the client via trigger.action.outTextToGroup() to slow down in X seconds. Schedule function to check if they slowed down in X seconds, if the don't, mark them for death. Viola. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. ENO Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Sounds irrefutably easy- why didn't I think of that!? Oh- wait... Trigger based it is for awhile longer I guess. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Devilman Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I have set a mission with a taxiway violations, debrie on runway not a problem unit exploded out of zone After a violation of set speed, user either waits for violation to expire and takes off safely works well for me anyway. Id rather have unit deactivate and just disapear [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Join Maddog Simulations DCS World Club & Squadrons for every module
badger66 Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Well , that depends on when you spend 8 minutes winding up your A-10 ..... and get rooted up the arse by some over optimistic fighter jock . Depends on how you look at it I suppose ..... but I cant see that its helpful , plus , its already written on some server briefs ..... so obviously they care about it too .
Demongornot Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Some people told to use trigger for taxiway over a certain speed, just do it, make both engine damage (like if you suck things in your engine) over a certain speed on the taxiway, not too low cause some people taxi really fast but don't manage to take off from the taxiway, its better than an unrealistic random explosion and it don't leave wreckage. The guy just loose both engine and was totally unable to repair, he have to take another plane and a message show why engine are broken during taxiway excess speed/attempt to take off. But don't set area around an airfield, some people like to fligh by over parking and i don't see any problem of doing this (real life pilot do it) and other need experience and easily leave the runway axis during take off or some other prefer turning just when they have leaving the ground cause they can control plane at low speed. Again, if this is implemented properly there will be both speed and altitude conditions that need to be met to engage the action item (disable / damage / system failure / explode unit etc) "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. BaD CrC Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I hope no Ka-50 pilot is doing 100 knots at 5 feet off the ground. If they don't they're probably safe. At least with my set up. We Ka-50, pilots, actually do that, but rather around 270 to 300 km/h. :D And airports are the best place to do so along with the sea, as we know the ground is flat enough. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
badger66 Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 Any way to implement a birdstrike for offenders ? Or perhaps a 15 minute ban ? But how would you get around , if a runway was damaged , then taxiway takeoff should be permissible ? I really don't know how to get over this one ?
Oznerol256 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Maybe one could use MIST to check wheather ATC is redirecting to alternate. AFAIK ATC is redirecting to alternate if the runway is damaged. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ENO Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Which server are we talking about where this is such a huge deal? Install slmod- kick or ban anyone who does it against briefing rules- fly. This seems to be ascending beyond being a nuisance. I enjoy dabbling with the potential of the ME but this is taking it a tad far (just IMO).
