AI landing at designated airfield

I'm trying to get a C-17 to land at an airfield. The C-17 will offload an STS team and the battle will ensue. Question....how do I get the C-17 to land at the airfield? Do I have to make the airfield neutral? Any help will be appreciated.

AI will land as long as the airbase is neutral or belongs to their coalition.

To add to that a level just in case you're not aware- when you set the waypoint for the aircraft over your designated airfield, make sure that you choose "landing" instead of "turning point." This will automatically configure the aircraft for landing.

 

The that might not hurt for your mission preparation is that you set up the landing first, then watch it happen to see where the aircraft goes to "power down."

 

That may be where you want to deploy your troops.

Have you tried making it so the C-17 doesn't react to threat in the way point options?

Yes if there are enemy forces within 2 kilometers I believe the tower will even tell the clients to go to alternate.

 

Move them out a bit further and check.

Maybe, wont units at an airfield automatically capture that airfield?
