Mt5_Roie Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 So I downloaded the 1.2.4 update via torrent and ran it. When it got to the location of the install I click next and it gives me and error. It says something along the lines of 1.2.3 is installed and it can't update to 1.2.4 without it breaking some add ons. It recommmended I run either a repair or an update. I ran the repair and it went fine. Tried it again and got the same error. Should I remove my add-ons first and then try it? Seems odd. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
karambiatos Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 youd need to uninstall 1.2.3 and then install 1.2.4 because the torrent download isnt a patch but the entirety of DCS world without the modules obviously A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
Kuky Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Correct... you either install full latest version of DCS (and all modules) in which case you have to uninstall existing version... or you run auto-update to update your existing installation to latest version. No longer active in DCS...
crazyeddie Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 How do you force Auto Update ? I have 1.2.3 and I am getting the same problems as roiegat above. The various links on here say go to the Start Menu, Eagle Dynamics and force Auto Update - But I do not have that option in that place on my Start Menu, just 2 document files.
Letourn Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Hi All, I am trying the autoupdate from 1.2.1 says server not available. Then i download the entire 1.2.4 torrent file 5 Gig when i start the .exe message appear you cannot install since you have 1.2.1 already on your system run autoupdate or repair. try once again to run both same error serveur unavailable And cannot point to the 1.2.4 download exe version. What should i do uninstall 1.2.1 and install 1.2.4. Willl i loose my activation for my A-10C ? Also planning to buy Huey, FC3 and P-51 this weekend but no go until i fix the update problem. Thanks
Wrecking Crew Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Guys, 1. Uninstall the previous version. Your \Saved Games\..\DCS World\ will stay intact. The latest v124 is better with any variables as those files that typically are modified will go from the C:\Program Files\ path to the Saved Games path. Cross fingers and you prolly won't have to re-do controller profiles. 2. Install the latest DCS World. DO NOT run the autoupdater yet - Cancel it if you start DCS World after its install. 3. Install any other modules you want to before you autoupdate. If you did autoupdate before the modules installation you may get version issues. 4. After all installations then you can do the update - easiest way is to start DCS World. I've not yet used the Module Manager, so that new feature may offer better management of modules... I'll be installing the Huey soon, though. The Update and Repair exes are in the \Program Files path to DCS World. Letourn Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Thanks WC. Last night i was feeling lucky and decide to try this without being sure. 1- Uninstall Previous Version 2- Install full latest version (about 5 Gig) 3- Run DCS World 4- Accept the update 5- When you enter DCS you wont see any of your purchase (dont worry you havent lost anything) 6- Go to the right menu click Open Manager, it saw the modules i own and ask me to intall them Everything is working
