For some reason the performance on this simulation has just gotten lower and lower with each new version seems to me doing some digging they (ED) have messed with the way shadows work in the game. I reverted to a past version 1.2.2 and the performance is much better. Not sure whats going on? Seems like this sim does not use any of the cores correctly even if it does say *64 in TM it's not acting right? I am using the newest Nvidia drivers. I have even done a complete OS rebuild. Really wish this was not happening because it won't do me any good to get a 660 Ti maybe a 670 but I am not sure this would fix the FPS issue with the new patch I have to use medium shadows. All high and about 30+ (around cities, smoke and the P-51 prop effects) FPS difference from 1.2.2 and 1.2.4. I paid $1300 just to be able to play this sim now I have to upgrade to get decent FPS. Some people are using I7 3770's and 680 and Titans and are getting shit FPS ( At points like explosions, smoke, lights and are not that detailed, crashing and flying over cities. I used to be able to fly over cities with no slow downs at all on high shadows. Any ideas of WTH is going on and if it's going to get fixed?

Not trying to bitch but this is one of my most fav things for relaxation and free time.

Same problem here. It is very disapointing.

In 1.2.3. I had in FC3 almost stable 60FPS and now 25 - 13 !!

My friend with little slower PCs have the game unplayable... :(

I 2nd that, while i had 130FPS on high settings a few versions back i cant play fluid anymore nowadays, it is starting to piss me off.

Not noticed any change in frames per second and i run a mid range build

X4 3.8Mhz

550 ti

12 gig ddr3

Touch wood. :joystick:

Is there peice of hardware you's have in common or software that might be causing this?

The problem is in FC3 and the lastest update for UH1.

A10C and KA50 is OK.

in FC3 from 60FPS to 20 FPS on high end PC. On the mid spec is unplayable..

Change of graphic settings doesn't help. Problem is optimalization.

Yes we need CPU optimizations. The engine is not using CUDA for physics at all nor does it use CPU cores and as far as GFX its not using 80% of a 660 ti. The project really just needs to go beta for EDGE and they need to develop from there and stop using the current engine. I know this engine might be more stable but the coding changes they are making don't work well with the current engine I am sure ED knows that already. It would be better to move forward and stop beating the dead horse that's already been dead for 5 days. Anyways as in the past ED sims always end up running poorly and unnecessarily. This is not just FC3 it's all modules.

The UH1 has problem with the model of helicopter. You can't see it in singleplayer.

Try to fly in formation with 5 - 8 friends. It is a slideshow. The model is too detail even if you are far from it.

But UH1 is still beta and the LOD will be hopefully optimised in the future.

FC3 is not beta anymore and FPS were perfect in 1.2.3

Reverting back?! > >add Santa's evil laugh here "HO-HO-HO"<<

DO it like this in the future:

And only click "YES" after you backed-up your whole previous DCS installation.

I had the same issue with FC3. I just installed FC3 so i don't know about the previous versions. But when i started playing online it would take a lot of time to load and in game it sometimes just grinded to a halt when flying. I'm not sure what made that happen because 70% of the time the FPS was do-able with 75% of my settings on high.

At one point i could not handle the FPS drop from 45 to 0 anymore and switched all my settings to medium and 4x AA and locked my FPS on 45.

Now it seems to work well under almost all circumstances. And i can even FRAPS. It's a disappointment that I can't run most of the settings on high cause I think it's possible. Some things are not very well optimized I think.

But I have fun flying in this game.. So it's all good for now. I'm just happy that i can play again. And A-10C does work with a lot of settings on high.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
