UrbanTerrorist Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Getting no fuel from the Tanker since the last update, an immediate and constant "disconnect" off the boom, then the Tanker banks to port and its all over. Anybody see the same?
NhiTrac Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I refuel OK though AI just wont latch on. They'll instead fly about 1 click behind and 20 knots slower than the tanker, ultimately running out of juice and ejecting... PhoenixBvo Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I copy NhiTrac's experiences. In 1.2.3 my wingie would refuel OK, but now he stays far behind the tanker. I had no refuelling issues myself. Konrad Friedrich Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 You did hit the NWS button after the disconnect? I'll have a try this evening - but I had these >wingman won't refuel< issues before. Then I realised that he only connects when I stay close in formation. Hmm... tanker banks to port... has he arrived at an waypoint that let him change course? Never had that trouble...
ApoNOOB Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I wanted to create a topic and ask if something was tweaked with the Tanker or rather the boom operator. I always had massive problems to get connected and suddenly it works nearly everytime. Now the operator even plugs me in after a 'sub optimal'-approach. :) Even more, when I get disconnected and quickly hit nosewheel button often he will reconnect me right away. Is this normal? Was it already like this before and now I just have found the "steady hand" needed for the job...? (A10C)
Konrad Friedrich Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Is this normal? Was it already like this before and now I just have found the "steady hand" needed for the job...? (A10C) You are getting better - that's all ;) I really enjoy aerial refueling now, and I trim intuitively. Since I use only one throttle at the time to get close and maintain speed it's alomost getting easy... (ok, shamless bragging ;))
UrbanTerrorist Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 I can refuel from the KC time and time again without a hitch in previous versions. I have noticed that when I am at approx 70-75% fuel loading, the tanker will definately not give me anymore fuel. I have seen a similar thread regarding this. Tried in SP and MP (host) and can confirm that the tanker hates me.
NhiTrac Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's a bug. Until they fix it, just let the tanker eat some 30mm if it won't give you anymore fuel. Intel i5 4670 | GTX 970 | 8 gb Ram | Windows 10 Thrustmaster Warthog | Saitek Rudders | Logitech G27 | Astro A40
ApoNOOB Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Did you check for your maximum weight in the rearm&refueling window? Maybe he automatically stops if you go above it. I could def. get 100% fuel.
skouras Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 its a bug i have the same problem after i drop my bombs and the fuel goes to 20% from 100% [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]W10(64bit)Asus Rog Strix Z370-F - i7 8700K - Dark Rock Pro 4 - 16 giga ram Corsair vengeance 3000 - MSI RTX 2070 Super - Asus Rog Phobeus soundcard - Z906 Surround speaker - Track ir5 - HOTAS Warthog
Ebs Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 UrbanTerrorist, can you upload a track? I just jumped in and refuelled a full tank in one go (haven't refuelled since the 1.2.4 update) although I haven't tried it with an AI wingy. Check out my guide to JSGME for DCS World.
UrbanTerrorist Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 @Ebs, I will uploada Track when I am back in the air.. Interestingly enough, I tried to Refuel when I was a client (not the Host) of an MP session and it refuelled me to the maximum without any problems. It seems if I am the Host, it only refuels me to 70-75% regardless of payload. Weird
Ebs Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 ah yeah, some of the guys in my squad said there was a bug with regards to refuelling as host. Check out my guide to JSGME for DCS World.
Gman Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I am new to DCS A-10 and have not been able to refuel. I have flown Falcon BMS for years with no refuel problems. I find that the boom operator does nothing to assist in making a connection. Am I expecting too much from A-10, or am I doing something wrong? Very frustrated!!!
tjhowse Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 There's an area of space behind and below the tanker you must occupy before the boom operator will start hunting your port. Keep experimenting until you find it. Also make sure your refueling slipway is open, and the refueling status indicator to the right of your HUD indicates "Ready". If "Disconnected" is illuminated, tap your nosewheel steering button to reset. I'm assuming you've done the radio stuff correctly for the operator to even have lowered the boom, but it's possible you didn't go the last step to signal to the tanker that you're ready to take fuel. I don't remember the specific radio command, but it's the first option in the radio menu.
NhiTrac Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Two updates and this refuelling issue (ai wont refuel either) is still not fixed? :-( Intel i5 4670 | GTX 970 | 8 gb Ram | Windows 10 Thrustmaster Warthog | Saitek Rudders | Logitech G27 | Astro A40
ZaltysZ Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 You need to be in position and call for "Contact". Boom operator will do his stuff, only if he replies with "Contact clear". If you wander away by too much, you will need to get back and ask for contact again, or else boom will just hang there. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
Sn0w_Lynx Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) WTF ok so I'm still learning the A-10C and i've been trying to practice Air refueling, in su-33 no probs, f-15 ehh i tend to drift when i look over my shoulder. A-10 WTF!, i watched this track and just got pissed, i thought you want to lay the pipe on the nose and walk it into the port, no connect, the only single connect i get is when im high and back off and little and it falls into place. i thought the attachment for the su-33 to IL tanker was a little forgiving, but this is nuts, I started screaming when I was watching the track! because i thought some of those should have been connects ________________________________________________ I realize what I was doing wrong now. Every time the boom operator broke off, you still have to hit the NWS to disconnect even though its not connected. never paid attention the the ready light on the right side under the compass. Just did a full run a moment ago! Hurray! Now all I have to do is get it in one connect, took me 3.arg.trk Edited June 7, 2013 by Sn0w_Lynx Follow UP [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Rig: :joystick: :pilotfly: AMD FX8350 8 core @ Stock Clock G.
