Hamblue Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Hello Since the last couple of updates I've been having problems with autopilot engaging. It takes several hits of the button. I checked the joystick properties and the button works fine. Anyone else having the issue? Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Damien Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I've had the issue as well at times.. Wasn't sure if the problem was with my joystick or with the game. Glad to see that others seem to be having the problem as well. I've noticed it seems to happen when I am in Autopilot and change the attitude or pitch with the stick, get the "Warning, Autopilot" warning and try to re enter the same setting in autopilot which always seems to fail.. but if I disengage via the button, it'll turn right back on as commanded. -Damien
jay43 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Check your pitch and roll + or - 5 pitch roll or yaw will stop auto pilot from engaging and will force it to disengage. I get what you're saying.. but even with wings level after rolling out of autopilot, I couldn't re-engage. I actually had to switch out of the options on my TM W Throttle and back in order to kick in the A/P again. -Damien
Hamblue Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Same here. I never had the issue but definitely have it now. Even with the plane level. It acts like a bad button, forcing you to hit it multiple times but isn't according to the windows configuration screen. Maybe the sim is simulating a faulty button. bezzi Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Autopilot works usually ok, but if i land and repair my plane autopilot stops working? edit: Oh it takes 4 min. to NAV align so EAC can be enabled, so yea its working fine. Edited May 23, 2013 by bezzi

Check if your EAC is functional. It may be disengaged (right warning lights panel).
zacklaws Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I noticed this last night. I was trying to engage path ap of slight bank and climb and it would not engage. Never had that issue before.. [well before the last three dcs updates been playing fc3] I've been getting this problem since about two (world) updates ago but with just a slight bank in order to go into an orbit whilst I sort other things out, but it will not work and just have to fly straigh and level with auto pilot on,
Hamblue Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Mine happens even when level. It takes multiple pushes. I did notice that it doesn't happen right away. Seems to take a few engagements of the auto pilot before it happens. As to the earlier question EAC is fine. Between that and the now missing diamond I'm thinking of un and reinstalling the A-10 module to see if it fixes the problem. I already did a repair and no luck. Hamblue Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Once you start seeing the problem try engaging and disengaging several times. It seems to get worse the more you use it per session. Hamblue Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 I uninstalled and reinstalled the A-10 module The autopilot seems to work better now but need to test it more. Another issue I was having is working again. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Hamblue Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Last night I uninstalled and reinstalled the A-10 module only. Seems to have fixed the problem. Doing a repair didn't help. Eight Ball Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) The issue I'm having is that when AP switch is set to path hold and I'm in say a 1200 fpm climb with a slight bank less then standard turn rate the AP will not engage. Are you sure you've ever been able to do that in the past ? I'm playing since the beta and as far as I can recall I've never been able to engage the AP when I was both climbing and banking at the same time. Path hold gives you a controlled climb/descent Alt hold allows youto orbit Alt/hdg just fly the plane in a straight line. I'm might be completely wrong, have that strong habits of putting my foot in my mouth, but that's how it has been working for me for the past 2 years. We shall see what the hogs gurus have to say about that :) Edited May 24, 2013 by Eight Ball Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)
shagrat Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/EAC_-_Autopilot_system_explained as said before, it is most likely an issue with harsh maneuvering. Also you should trim the plane often to keep a stable attitude. If the trim tabs of the EAC are already fighting the unbalanced plane it is possibly not able to adjust further for autopilot... Hamblue Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Hadn't been the issue here. I had plenty of room in all directions. The AP would engage but took many presses off the button to do so.
