Can someone please take a look at my settings, I've uploaded a pic of them below. I have been messing with this for a while now just to try and get the best FPS possible. What I have found is that as soon as I turn Visble Range to high, it seems this one setting that kills my 60fps. Does anyone else find this setting kills their FPS? And is there any setting I could switch off to maybe gain some FPS back in order to have Visib range set to high? Thanks!!

Does the drop happen when you turn TV- or IR images on in the cockpit displays? If yes, remove the "every frame" option (or set it to 512, or do both).

Note: If you run at 30FPS fix (like adaptive VSync or something like that) then removing the "every frame" option drops the FPS in the MFCD's to 15 FPS which removes the smoothness if the images "move".

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

I have just Adaptive set in Nvidia control panel and not Adaptive half refresh. No it doesn't happen when I swich TV or IR on, it's just my FPS are up and down and so erratic as soon I switch the Visib range to high. Will it make a big difference if I switch my cockpit to 512 every frame?

If you set it to adaptive only, your VSync rate is 60 FPS (if you can keep that value up all time) so you can turn off the "every frame" option for the MFCD's. It will half the FPS on the MFCD's but at 30, these are more then smooth enough to play (no little hickups because of low FPS).

Do it and see for yourself. If not satisfied, turn it back up...;)

Yes, increasing the resolution will make things more crisp, the difference can be seen if you zoom in to the displays or use exports.

So if I understand this correctly, increasing from 512 to 1024 doesn't show a difference on the MFD's?

And you must never select 'every frame' to keep it from killing your FPS?

All this time I've been flying with 256 selected, and it really messed up my target finding and ID-ing... Damn...

Hopefully 512 won't eat up too much of my FPS.

It will only show an increase in quality when you zoom in to the MFCDs so that they will half the screen. Every frame will sync the update rate of the MFCDs to the framerate of the sim, so it will result in additional load for the engine and hence lower FPS.

I achieve great results with 512 and every frame off.

yeah... 1024 every frame will kill things- the ACTUAL displays are apparently 512... and every frame as mentioned above isn't necessary.

Thank you, This is very use full information when using the Shkval in the KA-50 at times my frames will drop when it's looking at tree's. I'll take this information and use 512 and see if that cuts down on the slow down while using Shkval.
