Blacknemisis Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 We all know that the wing-man AI is very lacking thus making the wing-man unreliable. I use my wing-man as a decoy because if I send him in he will get shot down anyway. But I don't like to play that way because its like cheating. I think what we need is better wing-man options. I would like to see options giving us the ability to tell our wing-man to drop certain bombs with either CCRP or CCIP. Also to give him a certain at altitude to engage targets. When AI bombs its not very smart and drops below 8000ft and gets shot down. Is there away to get your wing-man to drop lets say CBUs at high alt using CCRP.

Yeah, the AI is somewhat lacking throughout DCS. I'm somewhat okay with that due to the fact that the real emphasis is on flight models and realism in the module subjects. It would just be nice to get some solid AI updates at some point and I think it could be one of the many things feasible that would launch the DCS universe into more Personal Computers around the globe. But as far as the AI wingmen go I can't seem to get them to do anything except get shot down. http://www.youtube.com/user/311Gryphon i7-8700, 32 GB DDR4 3000, GTX 1080 TI 11GB, 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Dual (sometimes Triple) monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Foss Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 But as far as the AI wingmen go I can't seem to get them to do anything except get shot down. I am a step further. My wingman came home alive with me, since i needed a rearm, he called it a day and parked inside a shelter, while i rolled to the runway for takeoff. Then suddenly he called "rejoin" and tried to turn inside the shelter which led to a big explosion and him ejecting inside the shelter, poor boy  Specs: System: Asus Z170-E, I7 6700K, 16GB DDR4, Asus GTX1070 8GB, 1TB M2 SSD + 2x 250GB SSD,TrackIR, TM Warthog, Saitek Rudder Modules: A-10C, KA-50, Mi-8, UH-1H, FC3, F5E, M2000, AJS37, AV8b, F18C

Is there some kind of trick to this? Youtube Channel || Twitch
winz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I agree that the AI is far far from perfect, but it is improving it with each iteration. I was recently converting some missions from FC 2 and some of them ended up to be much easier just because the AI wingman became more compentet since FC2. The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
NhiTrac Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 So it's not just me? My wingman does the below quite often and I've not been able to figure out if its me or just bad AI: 1) randomly declare "RTB" after i give an order to attack with full fuel and weapons. Will rejoin if asked and sometimes attack afterwards, too. 2) give an "attack at my SPI" order and he'll acknowledge but fly off to whoop whoop...
