Mt5_Roie Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I was wondering if anyone ever tried connecting two of the same joystick into DCS and if it would trip them separately. Long story: I have two cockpits I built. One has a Saitek X65F and the other X52 Pro. The X65F is the second one I own since the first one I had the flight stick went dead on. So I have one throttle from the X65F, one complete X65F, and a X52 Pro. In my recent pit I used the throttle X65F for a collective. But I'm thinking I would like to have the X65F complete set in this pit as well. Would the DCS sim recognize them as two separate joystick or would it confuse the system? Rahband Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Well not having two identical joysticks myself cannot comment on that. But i do have three Leo Bodnar bbi-32 devices which are identical externally but are assigned (or have) different numerical values in device manager so the same may apply to your joysticks
Mt5_Roie Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 OK thanks guys. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted June 20, 2013 ED Team Posted June 20, 2013 It should works because of game input can recognize devices by unique ID. I checked this a long time ago with two absolutely identical DIY joysticks. Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. doright Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 If they are given a unique ID (embedded in the device's firmware by manufacturer) using two sticks should be fine. The unique IDs allow the computer to remember what is assigned to each stick. If they don't have unique IDs then there can be confusion of assignments after a reboot or unplugging and replugging a stick. I have two Thrustmaster T160000 and for some reason TM didn't give them unique IDs. I haven't tried running them both at the same time though.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted June 25, 2013 ED Team Posted June 25, 2013 Vendor_ID and Device_ID are programmed by manufacturer in joystick ROM (you can see them in Device manager). Additionally Windows gives unique ID to each HID device, so we can connect to PC several devices with the same Vendor_ID and Device_ID - they will be different devices for OS. But... I remember I bought 10 (or even more) years ago Logitech wheel and Logitech joystick. Both devices connected to my PC, everything works fine - but all buttons on wheel became duplicates of the joystick buttons. I checked this in Control panel - pressed button on wheel indicates as pressed on joystick and vice versa. Logitech answered me 'By design' :( Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. That road goes down and down. I got a Logitech 3D pro and would like a dual 3D pro setup and DCS does gives unique ID to the 3D pro as i checked in the controls, screenshot PFA of the same, did any one tried with same joysticks only not the throttleof the same brand, i mean a another joystick to control throttle and such as some guys are doing with other flight sim titles. Please reply.
BaD CrC Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Connected 11 Leo bodnards with no issue. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Sokol1_br Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Bodnar boards may are different than ordinary sticks - from their FAQ: "Every controller has a unique serial number which means our devices will work alongside each other with no issues."
t bone Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 @BaD CrC Can you please share the screenshot of your controls screen in DCS or Can you please confirm if your DCS controls look like the screenshot I attached? @Sokol1_br There is a number in front of my 3d Pro in the DCS setting, is referring to it as a unique number for the flight stick connected? PFA the screenshot of my DCS controls and the link to the image below: https://ibb.co/WkVC2k0
t bone Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 @Sokol1_br There is a number in front of my 3D pro joystick in my DCS control settings, are you referring to the same as the unique ID for the joystick? @BaD CrC Can you please look into the screenshot attached of my DCS control settings for if you have a similar number in front of your Leo bodnards flight sticks or can you please share your control setting. Thanks a lot. https://ibb.co/WkVC2k0
lxsapper Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Yes you will be fine. Each will show as a separate controler, just with the same name. PeterP's two MSFF2 solution relies on it, I am finishing my own version of the mod myself and it works fine.
BaD CrC Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 You'll see only 3 controllers at a time in the control window. What do you need to check? https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
