I own both Blackshark and A10C and am looking at buying Huey, but I have noticed it says 'beta version' on page when buying.

My questions are, is there only a beta version currently for sale and if so is it worth buying or should I wait for the game to come out, or is it already out as a non beta?:helpsmilie:

And dare I ask, has anyone played it yet, and is it worth adding to my collection of DCS flight sims?

Sorry for posting here but could not find a link for huey on the forum. Your help and advice is appreciated.

Cheers:thumbup:

It is BETA only at the moment. We don't have any idea when the final release will be

You should look at the Huey section for more info.

I own it. I fly it. I love it, but that's just me.

Also, remember that if you buy the beta you automatically own the final product when it is completed... (And it is already the greatest helicopter simulation ever made...) At least that is my opinion and I have played MANY helicopter sims in my day!

Thanks for the info everyone

Will it be completed, do we know that for sure. I know it is only 50 bucks and nothing against DCS but many games get left as is (buyer beware).

Okay, thanks

 Even as a beta the huey is outstanding, don't worry so much.

Just for the record, and even though there are different companies involved, but the A-10C spent a fair amount of time in open beta as well. Ihesitate to call any software project ever "finished" (even if such a state was even possible), but it is certainly enjoyable.

Ive been tempted to go out and get another DCS title also, the only thing stopping me is whether it has the depth of in game tutorials as A10c, as without those and the wiki i would have been like a was with Allied Alliance sat with 720 pages of printer paper and not clue.

Which others sims in the stable have the equivalent?

I dont own huey as its not my thing. But I fly with loads of people who use it and they say you can hardly tell its in beta. Most of the issues with it are DCSW/multi player related anyway and do not effect the platform per say.

Go get it and have fun :joystick:

Surely the decript 'Beta' means it is a version of the game - it is just a name. Some games there is no difference between the beta version and the final release, and with the replies above, it sure seems likely there will be little difference between the beta and the final release.

Even final release games get updated and various bugs get ironed out, so they have different names too, usually in increasing numerics.

So, what's in a name? Sometimes very little, sometimes a lot.
