SSD for DCS

How large of a SSD would be needed for DCS alone? With all modules. I have a empty 64 gig, would that be large enough?

I would think what is good. I have a 240GB SSD and have about 130GB free. I use mine for everything and not DCS alone. I have my OS, DCS, BMS and Arma II all installed on it.

IIRC, my DCS installation needs actually about 30gb (all moduls, except Su-25a, FC3, P-51).

 

But I look ahead and now have a 250GB SSD, for DCS only, maybe at October with BF4, too.

Weird mine is only 12gig with all except CA, A10c, no FC.

I have everything installed and my DCS folder is bit less than 13GB

I actually have over 17GB in my DCS folder but that does include a bunch of skins and terrain mods, for JSGME which means they are actually there twice, which are not small.

Agreed. My flight machine (in my sig) has lots of SSD space but I still have a mechanical drive for assorted stuff (like mods, documents and screen shots) that I don't need wasting SSD space.

I would recommend the 128Gb Samsung 840 pro - it is fast as HELL, far faster than the corsair SSD you picked (I have one of those too and it is not as fast as the 840 pro). Samsung is using a fantastic controller in their pro SSD's.
