Multiplayer problem

So i made a Quick mission with 2 su 25 T and some unarmed trucks to learn my Buddy how to fly and use weapons. But he can't find the server and when i join there is a pause button in the left corner and i can't start. Also what should i select client or player on each aircraft?

You will learn that MP missions have 'client' aircrafts but 'player' one.

Release the pause (top right corner I think ?) with 'pause' on keyboard.

Choose a good server name to make him easy to find yours in the list.

Be sure you opened your server on Internet, not on Lan.

When i try to un pause the game it don't work. I can her engines but when i pause again the sound stop and the pause thing is still there. And i have a loading screen all the time. Plz help :(

I'm having the same issue, mission loads, but load screen does not go away. I can see the game on the edges of the screen (about 1 pixel wide) but that danm loading screen is there. This was trying to host, I'll now try as client.

Yes to everything but what do you mean with select airplane in menu to right? I get a menu where you can select plane tho and then i select plane and get same problem as lxsapper :(

 

Edit: in mission editor should 1 aircraft have player and rest client?

Found a solution in another tread and was able to further pinpoint the problem I only deleted the files:

 

autoupdate.settings

network.cfg

network.vault

 

under users/savedgames/DCS/Config

 

That cleared the problem for me.

I seem to be having a problem just like this and this solution did not work for me sadly. Though I didn't have all 3 files, I only had network.cfg and network.vault. I deleted both and my friend still can't join.

 

I also though maybe it was my router, so I opened the port...and then more ports...and then I just put my entire host machine in the DMZ (which isn't safe) and turned off windows firewall. He still can't see me on the server list :/

Have you recently updated? Has he?

 

Can you cover off some basics like- are you running the same versions? I know when the beta came out I sometimes got lost as to which folder I was in, editing... I'd make changes in the beta thinking that it was 1.2.6 (or versa vice) and then get frustrated.

 

So yes, ensure you're running the right version...

 

We've also had some success for no particularly known reason renaming the entire DCS folder in Saved games to DCS1 (or any other name) and letting the game recreate the whole thing.

 

If it solves your problem, then great- if not... you can delete the new folder and revert your old one back to DCS.

 

Other things that have hampered progress are ISP issues where data packets drop off at particular points en route... I don't know as much about these kinds of problems as much as they exist.

 

Some things you may also want to try:

 

Repair DCS World

 

Reinstall DCS World

 

Also- if you recently "patched" to 1.2.7 you may both want to just dump it and start with a fresh copy of 1.2.7. Again, if you do this remember it doesn't touch your saved games folder (DCS)... so ensure you either rename it, or back it up... you can then test moving elaborate key assignments over from the backed up 127 to the new version- (don't do that with older 1.2.6 input files)... Again, I suggest this with caution since clean and clear is generally safest though least convenient.

The version numbering were wrong when we first started this endeavor yes. We got him successfully patched and we double checked we were on the same version. Once he's awake, we'll start working through the rest of your suggestions.

 

Just to rule it out, I'd like to post my mission to see if anyone has time to view it. Maybe I just made a bad map? It's a very simple map though, designed for my buddy who hasn't flown in quite some time. Ramp start, crap tons of enemies, no triggers.

 

Edit: Just read another comment by you Eno about making sure the network setting was set to LAN. Neither myself or my buddy did this, so I'll be adding this to the list of things to try with him. (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1914513&postcount=25)

 

Edit2: Don't worry about trying the mission. I tried using a default mission and he still can't find the server. We've worked through several of the suggestions. Trying the repair feature now. If this doesn't work, we're down to having to resinstall the entire thing. This really should not be this difficult to get a multiplayer mission going...

DCS folder in Saved games- rename it... let the game recreate it.

 

LAN issue isn't prevalent in the new 127 version- so that won't be it.

 

Got to try someone else connecting to your server...
