Done.

Had Treaded Optimisation on Auto (works fine with A-10C stand alone). Did set it to "OFF". No cure.

Also noticed you have Tripple Buffering set to OFF where i have it set to ON. No cure if i changed that.

I already fooled around with the nVidia settings when this problem first occured to find a solution. No joy then either...

oh well, it was worth a shot

have you got the sim installed to its default install directory of C:\ Program Files?

Nope, installed it on a separate dedicated Games SSD (as a matter of fact, i don't install anything under the default install directory unless i don't have the option to do that).

I don't see any reason why it would cause any problem since the previous versions were also installed in this way as is my standalone A-10C installation which works fine.

Wolf Rider, not to sound disrespectful. But this is real issue that is already filed and reported to ED.

Kuky who has been so kind to help us has been able to reproduce the effect also confirms this is a real thing.

He also reported that this apparently has been fixed on an internal build.

There is also more of us who has the same issue, and are able to revert to 1.2.5 and get rid of the bug.

Following logic, this should tell us that this is a DCS issue and has nothing to do with our video card settings. Or where we have it installed.

I think he knows TZeer because on the first page he also confirms having the same problem. For him it went away after re-installing everything (post 178 ) but that's not really the cure i guess because as i said, i installed everything from scratch on a new rig and the first thing i did after installing DCS was looking at this issue. You can't get a cleaner installation then that so if anything installationwise would caused it would have surfaced (or went away) when i installed it. But it didn't so i take it for now that Wolf Rider has been one lucky bastard...:D

Not here, no difference.

But until now i'm the only one who did a test.

It goes quickly so give it a shot (first try without the fix).

I NEED FEEDBACK FROM THOSE THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE - PLEASE TEST USING THE WORKAROUND WITH AUTOEXEC.CFG AND PROVIDE FEEDBACK

For me personally I think it's OK but to be honest I can still see it's not 100% smooth but I am not sure if it's FPS, before I give feedback to developers I need feedback from you

Tested and I can also confirm this fix does NOT work.

Still exactly the same

This one is a bit of a long shot, but for those affected... download and run an App named "Dependency Walker", as there could possibly be a bit of a file mix up present

Another is to ensure that the sim has been installed to a directory outside of the C;\ Program Files folder (windows file protection feature does affect smooth running if installed here) and give the sim's root folder Full Permissions through the folder's Properties/ security/ user tab

Sorry WR thanks for the effort but...

On my previous rig i came somewhere from below 1.2.0 up to 1.2.5 (all updates) without a problem and after i updated to the first version of 1.2.6 the TrackIR problem showed. I dig that it could have been a file mix up at that point. But then i reverted back to 1.2.5 through the autoupdater and all was running smooth again. Is there is really a file mix-up, it should have been on 1.2.5 as well after returning from 1.2.6.

Then, when updating again from 1.2.5 to 1.2.6, the problem showed up again. At this stage i still could live with it being a file mix-up.

But... on my new rig i installed 1.2.6 fresh without going through any update at all and still the TrackIR problem popped up. There is no way this could be a file mix-up because there is nothing to be mixed-up in the first place.

As an administrator (the only one, no other users on my PC) i have full rights on everything. Also, i don't really see what certain permissions have to do with choppy TrackIR behaviour in only one game (named DCS World), and more, only within version 1.2.6....?

giving "Full Permissions" is different to "Running as Administrator" and from reading through the thread, only some are having a problem, not everyone.

As for the windows File protection system associated with its Program Files folders, you would understand that some files are made Read Only and are not writable to, even under Run as Administrator and installed as Install as Administrator.

There certainly is some anomaly there, what between different systems/ third party programs, Apps, etc and sim version but where that is exactly...

Both TIR and the sim need to be installed at the same level and run at the same level and effectively both outside of the Windows Programs File folders

I installed 1.2.5 again over night, tried again 1.2.5 vs latest 1.2.7 (tester) install... and yeah... I can still see the difference so unfortunately I don't see it being fixed either... I've given mine (and yours) feedback to ED.

PS: Reason I said before it was OK to me is because it's easy to get used to something, and as I don't play 1.2.5 and I run 3 screens I get used to lower FPS so this bug is not so obvious (why I never complained about it :)) but trying one after another 1.2.5 and 1.2.6 or 1.2.7 (tester) it becomes apparent again... so I'll keep 1.2.5 for a while so I don't have to keep reinstalling again till hopefully this is fixed.

Bugger, this means it's also in the 1.2.7 tester version...

But once it catches your attention it's hard to revert to the state before you knew it was there...

not really, I am used to lower FPS so bit of non-smooth movement is OK for me and doesn't bother me. To feel its there again (to become a bug/annoying) I need to experience the other one again so why I am now back to 1.2.5 public instal.

I'll test this today for more user feedback.

Not sure where this might have occurred, but I recall at 1.2.6 there was the introduction of a few things:

Higher mem cache usage

64bit

Trackir shoulder view expansion

Mi-8 module

Freetrack expansion

View.lua changes

Plus FFB is borked in 1.2.6 as well. Others mentioned this is fine in 1.2.5

Related ? Maybe, maybe not.

The biggest change for me was going from my hat clip back to the Track Clip, the smoothness difference was night and day. But I guess results will be different for everyone depending on their TiR settings.

autoexec.cfg input entries had no effect.

I did play with trackir axis command saturation, which appeared to improve things slightly.

DCS true head movement overriding Trackir? dont know..

Im loading 1.2.5 now, and going to go through a setting and file comparison.. very annoying.

1.2.5 definite difference, especially heads down looking at gauges, head panning is lot smoother.

I couldn't find any file or option to improve it; I guess it's in the DLL's? or an option elsewhere.

Is this directed at me? If it is my native refresh rates are 75 and 60 Hz. Currently running at 75Hz. I've tried running at both and it makes no difference.

The stuttering when panning left and right is absent/barely present in 1.2.5 but really bad in all 1.2.6 builds.
