Ohgr Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Hey Guys, I am a total noob to DCS and just got it yesterday along with MI8 And Huey. How do I install this mod?:helpsmilie: V/R, Ohgr VCVW-11 "Vapor" USN AE 2001-2015 Heatblur Tomcat Tester
Rapax Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 | INSTALL | +---------+ 1) Browse: "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\" 2) Create a folder with name: "MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES" 3) Move (drag&drop) the 18 files from zip to MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES folder. That's it.

Devrim Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Thanks! Am I correct in assuming that I have to unzip the files? Text isn't telling you "unzip files". You can drag and drop files without unzipping. Your zip windows is open, right? Select 18 files. Hold your mouse button on them and drag it over the folder that you just created as MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES, and release mouse button. Or, wait for a few days, I'll update installation notes. You can install it via another way. The mod will be be online after moderator check... Devrim Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 If you delete "Mods" folder, you delete almost entire game (including other modules too)! Browse: "..\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\" folder, and delete "MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES" folder. That's it. Major SNAFU Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Hi all, I cannot seem to get this to work. I downloaded the most recent version. I have unzipped and copied all of the files into the Mod directory in DCS world. I still see the original cockpit text. I opens both of the folders all the way down and re-copied the files for the Mod into the correct directory, confirming the copy and replace each time. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
SilentGun Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 You need to put it into Mods/aircraft/Mi-8MTV2/cockpit/textures/ I think please correct me if I'm wrong Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)
Major SNAFU Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 RESOLVED - PEBCAK on my end. (Problems Exists Between Chair And Keyboard) Okay. I have tried to follow the directions, but I am misunderstanding something. When I first opened this path: "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\" (before I copied or installed anything). Inside of this textures folder is a zip file called "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip" This zip file is there from the beginning. So I then tried each of the following, non of which have worked: 1) I copied the 18 files and placed them into the directory along with the "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip" file. That didn't work so I then: 2) created a folder with the same name as the zip file "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES" and then I copied the 18 files into this new folder. This does not work either. Going back yet again to the install instructions for the mod. Open the zip file (I already have, that is how I am reading the txt file with the installation instructions). Move the "Mods" folder into the DCS World folder. Okay. I riight-click on the "Mods" folder in the same directory that I am reading the txt file in. I select "Copy". I then go to the DCSWorld folder and right-click and select "Paste". Windows informs me that there is already a directory named "Mods", do I want to replace any files with the same names. I select "Yes". This last one did it. I must have missed something the first time b/c I would have sworn I did this the first time before I went on to try the alternatives. Anyway, I looks great! Thanks for making it!
Devrim Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Open the zip file. Move the "Mods" folder into the "DCS World" folder. That's it.That is what instruction says. Why didn't you do that at first? ...I looks great! Thanks for making it!Thank you. Simicro Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hi Devrim, Many many thanks for your MOD. I am aware a lot of work went into it. I had the same difficulty as Major SNAFU and finally got the MOD installed correctly by reading your conversation above. Maybe you should write in the installation instructions: Open the zip file (do not unzip it) and move the "Mods" folder into the "DCS World" folder. I know your instruction are clear; however people like me are so used to unzip in a temporary folder first, then move the files. Which in this case does not work. - Tony - . Jacks Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Devrim, thanks for this great mod! I have a issue where the White writing on the lower centre console continually flickers and is completely illegible. I assume that this is a mipmap issue. Is this a known problem and is there a fix for it? Devrim Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Hi guys. Thanks Simicro... Jacks; Yes, it's a known problem, but I can't do anything, even if I mass with mipmap of the texture - didn't work. It's a problem from Belsimtek side. I hope it will be fixed in future updates. :) Thank you. 1 Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
Jacks Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Devrim, thanks for the reply. I may look at the textures and see if I can place some labels over the shimmering text. It won't look too good but will do the job. Hopefully, DirectX 11 will resolve this issue. I have had shimmering text in every cockpit in dcs and so had use mods for each one. Thanks again for the mod which I have used since day one of flying the mi-8.
