The Logo thread!

So - I open up the logo thread with an attempt that I'm really not that content with myself ;)

Too "cluttered" and a bit too much CloD feeling with that orange sight? Don't have more time tonight anyway...

But I invite others to join in!

Not too shabby though ... background blood red would do it for me.

Thanks! You mean something like this? Or do you talk about the blue background?

The blue background. My favorite colour combo is red, grey, black and some wood colour. I noticed you also changed the "WW" outline to white, nice.

Kind of reminds me of the "Axis & Allies" board game series country markers.

He he, sharp eyes noticing that I did a quick change of the outline :)

The thing is that the background is really not "part of the logo" that should have transparent background (like the small "icon" version) - so it can be used on different pages etc. But it looks better with something in the background.

But the one I did after misunderstanding you with red circle is actually not too bad :)

Here are some variations anyway (one with the original black/grey circle, and one with a green tint).

And I have for sure also played Axis and Allies too so that may be an unconscious inspiration :)

You could've gone with something less... perfect.

What are people supposed to suggest after this? :)

Although, I don't see "DCS" on any of the other logos, and the number "2" looks to much like a sequel to me. Maybe put roman "II" and Europe "1944" somewhere instead of DCS and 2.

I do like it though, 1000 times better then the mockup that is there now :)

He he - some more:

* Added a sharper DCS logo

* Changed the color of the 2 to match it

* Put a white background to not confuse with that!

Soon there will be as many as the pledge rewards ;)

I did actually try with the roman "II" first but I did not get that to work... But I agree that it really should be the real "name of the game" that so I will have to try some more. And I had 1944 in the first version too, but it got way to "cluttered" unfortunately :)

The black/grey/blood red one is fantastic! Actually, they both are ... liking the sharper "DCS" text in black. Stick with "ww2".

Nice job!

A comment : if that is a spitfire, then it should be a Mk IX for DCS WWII, which means twin radiators.

The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life to experience all three at the same time.

Great logos! But it just occurred to me... With one free aircraft and the rest of the modules paid, will mean that each aircraft will be it's own module with it's own icon, as it is now in DCS with the Su-25 and all the addon aircraft.

PC Specs / Hardware: MSI z370 Gaming Plus Mainboard, Intel 8700k @ 5GHz, MSI Sea Hawk 2080 Ti @ 2100MHz, 32GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM

Displays: Philips BDM4065UC 60Hz 4K UHD Screen, Pimax 8KX

Controllers / Peripherals: VPC MongoosT-50, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, modded MS FFB2/CH Combatstick, MFG Crosswind Pedals, Gametrix JetSeat

OS: Windows 10 Home Creator's Update

And it is a WW2 RAF font for the "WW" by the way :)

Hey guys! Got linked to this thread from the Kickstarter. Thought I'd post a logo I threw together today.

I've already had comments about using the Stars & Bars as the backdrop. I'm definitely open to suggestions.

Great logo mazex!

The Expendables meets Captain America ... very nice find!

I'd like to see those wings sharper, and soften the text a bit. Also use red flames inside the text for dramatic effect.

Both logo's are differently sized, so could be used in different places.

True, but as I understand it "DCS: WWII Europe 1944" will be a different stand-alone "World" with its own launcher separate from the current "DCS: World" altogether, so there will be a main "WWII Europe" logo and also logos for each aircraft module.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey I was going to create this thread! )

We do have the worst name for a coherent logo.

The main guideline is that DCS WWII is the series name, and Europe 1944 is just the byline.

We need a design that looks good as "DCS WWII: Europe 1944" and can also translate into "DCS WWII: Pacific 1943" and "DCS WWII: Berlin 1945" or "DCS WWII: Korea 1950". With the DCS WWII part remaining recognizably the same, and allowing at least some flexibility with the campaign-year design.

Also, I personally prefer simple logos. I look at them a funny way. I zoom out the picture to like 8x8 pixels, and if it still looks unique and recognizable, it's good.

Anyway, we definitely need to do a community contest for the best logo, and I should offer some sort of a reward, like an equivalent of the Matrix Tier 8 KS reward plus a special credit for the winner or something like that.
