flanker0ne Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Are you sure it's not a Red threat circle? Maybe a Red naval unit? SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool

BBQ Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 I should have annotated the screenshot -- it's the grey area that is the problem (the ocean) -- it's usually blue.
karambiatos Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) you know, you should zoom in on the thing you want us to see in the video, you cant see anything when zoomed out. 159th_Falcon Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I should have annotated the screenshot -- it's the grey area that is the problem (the ocean) -- it's usually blue. Unless its being overlapped by an Red Air Defense Zone. Which seems to be the case in the video. To test, go into the mission editor and place an KA-50 somewhere over the Black Sea. Set it either as client or player, and take her out for a spin. Let us know what color the sea has on the Abris now. BBQ Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 I don't know where you went to kindergarten, but where I went blue and red didn't make grey!

flanker0ne Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Zone over H2O = Light Blue (Sea) + transparent Blue (Threat Circle) = Blue Weirdness = Light Blue (sea) + Transparent Red (Bigger Red Threat Circle) = Lillac (or Light Purple) SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool
BBQ Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Do I really have to record it all over again to show you that 3 seconds earlier the grey weirdness wasn't present? And look at the sea area and notice the edge where it becomes grey. You can see the circles of the zones and there is no giant red zone since if that's what it was you wouldn't see the blue of the sea at all.
BBQ Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Better yet, download and view the track yourselves at 08:05, where you'll see no grey area. No rebuttals about a threat zone popping up suddenly, because that's not how it works on the ABRIS -- it only shows threats known at time of mission start, and will keep showing them, even if the source of the zone (AAA or SAM) has been destroyed.
Fishbreath Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 it only shows threats known at time of mission start This isn't related to this problem, but it actually shows threats not hidden in the mission editor and alive when the ABRIS boots. Kind of a pain, honestly, because there isn't a way to set up a threat circle without having a living unit backing it. ajax Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 But the ABRIS does update the size of the threat circle based on your altitude and LOS impediments. It is not instantaneous but it does update periodically, maybe every 10-15 seconds.
