Keyboard advice please

Thinking about a new keyboard , with backlight buttons in green or blue .

 

I hear some wireless keyboards have issues with the F keys not working properly ingame ?

 

Im lookin in a price range from 150 to 200 euro ..... all thoughts appreciated .

My keyboard of choice is the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. I actually can't think of a single wireless keyboard that I would use for gaming. I really don't care for any of the wireless keyboards that I have used.

 

Not sure what kind of price they run over there, but I paid about $130 USD.

Been very good for my gaming and the keys light up blue, red, or purple

 

but there are lots of great keyboards out there

Yeah , I did hear that wireless was not the way to go . Thanks for your help so far boys .

 

Ok , so Ive narrowed it down some . Now I want a USB connection as opposed to wireless .

 

You talk about old , mine doesn't even have the bloody euro sign on it , so I want to blow around 200 on a nice one .

Corsair also makes some nice ones, based on reviews I have seen. I've been tempted to buy one of theirs just to try it but I have too many unused keyboards already.

The lacal shop has a Logitech G19 or a G510

 

G510 119 euro , G19 is 195 ..... is the price worth the difference .

Not unless you actually have a use for that little screen. I have a 510, it is a decent keyboard, it just doesn't have the feel that the mechanical switches do.

I've been having wireless desktop (mouse+keyboard) for many years and I do not have any problem with it. But I use it basically only to start DCS. Everything I need in game is mapped on my THW...

I've got a G19 at the moment, great keyboard, but I'm looking into going to a mechanical keyboard (razer, like cichlidfan has).

Build quality - Topre, Filco, WASD

Bells n whistles, Ducky, CM, Corsair, Razer

 

Depending on what you want, have a good look, and also try and hands on with one, to get a feel for the Cherry Switches. You can find tester kits to try individual keys.

 

Personally I hhear bad stories about Corsair LEDs blwing and that's a hassle I don't want.

I'd choose Ducky if you want a quality LED keyboard, if not LED, and you're looking for great quality, check out Topre, Filco and WASD, maybe Das as well.

 

I don't care for Macros and so on but I'd imaigne them to be quite useful for gaming, especially DCS.

I love my Filco Majestouch 2 with brown keys, though and can easily recommend it as a great quality, solid feeling mechanical keyboard. Brown keys for me felt the best with their tactile response and not too noisy.

For mechanical keyboards with little or no 'bells and whistles', I have two Das Keyboards.

 

EDIT: I do have to admit that I absolutely hate the cable on the Blackwidow Ultimate. I don't need USB or audio on my keyboard and that cable would be a lot less stiff, and less of a PITA, if it weren't for all of the extra stuff in it.

Well, the biggest bad news is that it doesn't have mechanical keys. :P For me, that alone disqualifies a keyboard. That said, I get a shot at trying one of those for a short while when visiting a friend a couple weeks back, and aside from the keys thing it did seem like a pretty nice KB.

I have a 510, it is a decent keyboard, it just doesn't have the feel that the mechanical switches do.

 

Aside from that one point, there really is nothing wrong with it at all.

Anybody have experience with Roccat keyboards?

The Ryos Mk Pro appears to be a pretty nice keyboard, choice of Cherry switches, dual processors, and the ability to control every led separately.
