So I just got a new rig after years of waiting and I'm now getting back into simulations. I've been watching DCS for the past few years and really wanted to try this out. Having the DCS World as a free download off steam and it comes with the Su-25 - nice =).

 

So what I'm wondering is if there are online squadrons out there any more these days and if so where do I begin looking?

There are tons.

 

And we'll all weigh in here, I'm sure :D

 

Question really is - what kind of aircraft and and mission types interest you?

 

There are groups devoted to just acrobatic flying. There are groups devoted to A-10 missions, there are laid back groups, there are hardcore MilSim groups, etc.

 

We happen to like Russian aircraft, integrated operations (combined ground command ,SEAD,CAP, and CAS all in the same mission), with a large dose of realism without getting fanatical. We've also a fairly small core group (<10) right now, so we all know each other pretty well.

We have over 50 members from around the world and we are growing covering full theatre of DCS. We are semi casual/serious group. Over 18s

Hello Jimbolya,

 

If you are looking for a group of people to fly with then I might suggest checking out TAW. I am the second in command of the TAW DCS Division and we are currently recruiting. We currently have around 32 people in our division at the moment. We have a NA battalion and an EU battalion, both with a fair amount of people, so that we can have people from all over the world play at times that will be convenient for them. I would describe our flight style as fairly casual but when mission time comes around we tend to lean more toward the serious side of flight simulators. I'd say we try to stay in between the two.
