Grimes Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 It is rather niche, but I thought it was worth mentioning. No Limits is a roller coaster simulation and they finally released the sequel after 5+ years of development. Its pretty crazy to see the rides that people can come up and it was one of the first serious sims I really got into when I was younger. http://www.nolimitscoaster.com/ Am3O-psHgL0 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Ali Fish Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I like the idea of this. I guess its about conserving momentum etc ? But well... far to expensive. $45. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Grimes Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Its very much an exercise of creativity to see what you can build. Some try and mimic a real roller coaster trying to make the perfect replica, most just make whatever they feel like making. People tend to put a large amount of effort into it though. A pretty big part of the game is uploading your tracks to sites that have tools for downloading and rating rides or competing in contests. The same sort of thing has occurred in the past with the Roller Coaster Tycoon games. People make stuff and then they share it for others to enjoy. ENO Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Sweetest's oldest is huge into coasters and has rct as well as the first no limits. He's actually started BUILDING a roller coaster in the back yard. This is probably on the list of things we will have to throw at the gtx590 I just put in his computer... "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Supersheep Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Thanks for this thread. I* was playing Rollercoaster Tycoon A LOT when I was young(er), and always had a lot of fun with the coasters, but never heard about this project at all. I have too many other things I want to play in the next year, but I'll keep an eye on this. *No, I'm not** 'Sweetest's Oldest,' LOL):megalol: **At least to the best of my knowledge:music_whistling: The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
cichlidfan Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Looks pretty cool. Downloaded the demo. Thanks. EDIT: I haven't tried building yet (thought the tools looks pretty good), but the demo tracks run very nice and the 1st person view is excellent. That aspect of it just screams for a Rift. It does seem like there are some limitations on the regular version. Particularly if you wanted to make videos.
