I have noticed the F-15C HUD AOA scale does not disappear from the HUD in navigation mode after you raise the gear in 1.2.7 update as it did in 1.2.6 and previous versions.I thought it is an issue with my installation but I checked this on another computer and with gear up at 350 knots I still had the AOA scale in HUD.

Is this feature changed on purpose or is it a bug?

I would like to bump this particular question also (as it seems to have been ignored), and add something..

I have noticed that the HUD AOA indication does not match the actual AOA indicator during landing.

I have just got the F-15C strandalone and been running a few touch n go's and noticed that I was no where near 22 deg AOA on the HUD AOA indicator, while it definately appeared that I was by all other indicatrions like airspeed etc - so I had a glance down at the manual AOA gauge on the instrumet panel and yep sure enough it was bang-on the 20 deg bug for landing.

Is this a bug, or is the HUD AOA somehow supposed to show a different AOA than what the aircraft actually is at..in which case what is the point of it on the HUD?

Edit: Mods feel free to move this to the specific forum for F-15C: DCS Flaming Cliffs

The AoA for the F-15 should only be displayed in units and not degrees. The HUD scale is degrees but everything thing else now is units.

Take a look at IvanK's reference. Units is about 1/2 of degrees.

Already been bugged. It should only appear with Gear down. In addition the HUD AOA scale is displaying Degrees rather than units.

Thanks very much Ivank - to be honest I have been pretty unimpressed with the F-15C in general...currently googling F4 BMS...How many years and there is still no decent replacement for Falcon 4, hard to believe really.

All I can think is certain developers are too busy releasing a new Beta this and Alpha that and charging money for it, instead of concentrating on getting one thing right. Quantity over Quality seems the mantra with sims these days unfortunately.

I can't agree more, was looking forward to finally flying the F-15C after flying most of the Flaming Cliffs 3 russian aircraft. But no matter how i zoom the view or position my head, the F-15C HUD is either too small and i can't see a damned thing, or i have to press my face against it and then lose all outside perspective.

I'm really not enjoying flying this aircraft which is supposed to be the pinnacle of airpower - hard to believe that this is realistic and that the F-15 has a 100 to zero kill ratio with such visual limitations!?

My only consolation is that the F-15C is part of FC3 and I can just go back and fly the russian aeries instead.

I had the same issue, and it turned out that my monitor was badly calibrated. If you can't see the hud calibrate your monitor, that's probably the problem.
