  1. OMG!! Someone's been talking! The top secret ED development process is laid bare for all to see! Err . . . . . no. Yer wrong ;) And probably trolling, too. There's a basic lack of understanding going on here. The others seem to be doing a fairly good job of explaining to someone who can't be explained to, but I'm feeling masochistic so will bang my head against the wall again. 1. Black Shark is a helicopter sim. 2. It has won over plenty of fast jet pilots already. If you really don't believe it's your thing, fine. But not everyone else in the world shares that viewpoint. You're funny :P I'll grant you the limited mission aspect - it's a pain in the arse. However, blowing stuff up and joyriding even for a couple of months is worth the money. It's limiting, but then I haven't played Far Cry since I completed it . . . . and I forked out more for that than FC. One day we might get the holy grail of mission generators, but for now I'm not going to cross an otherwise good sim off my list because in six months time I'll stop playing it ;) ( . . . . we're putting a lot of effort into this, aren't we? What's the betting that somewhere there's an F4 forum slapping it's collective back about it? ;) )

  2. What do you think, guys?. Will we see a dream coming true with this?. I must say it really looks (and sounds) promising: *The flight model will use a series of Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers to simulate the FBW characteristics of the Hornet. We have two former F/A-18 pilots (one of whom was an instructor at Fallon, NV) testing. Weapons loadouts will add weight and drag proportional to their respective interference indexes. As a weapon is fired or jettisoned, the weight and drag are removed. Asymmetric loading will result in a shift of lateral moment precisely corresponding to the weight imbalance. The hydraulic and electrical systems are completely custom (bypassing FSs system) and function as they do in the real A/C. The fuel system is also similarly complex.* Links: http://www.alphasim3.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=488a8b61357493df45df44c669a4e071&topic=20.0 http://www.alphasim3.com/forums/index.php?topic=20.75

  3. Просьба к модераторам. На мой взгляд адекватнее всего, дабы ещё более не провоцировать и без того нервный народ, старую тему по МиГ-31 удалить. А кому эта тема действительно интересна, как, например мне, писать сюда.

  4. Better suggestion for you asswipe: If you're ever in the UK, let me know. We'll meet face to face and see how big your mouth is in the real world. I'll happilly repeat anything I've ever said to anyone on an internet forum to their face. Be interesting to see if you've got the balls to do that. Anytime little boy. I'll be waiting.

  5. In response to Hell SQN Protos I am not taking a "personal" side in this debate. But if i am allowed I will input my opinion on it If it is just about fighters, then why is the SU25 & (t), a-10 included. They are not fighters. They are dedicated ground pounding platforms only. So if we have learned to accept aircraft such as the 25 and a-10 as acceptable airframes included in this sim, then i see no reason why the black shark would not fall under the same catagory. I originally thought "who cares" when they announced black shark. But the more i hear about it, the more it sparks my interest. A supposed 300+ page manual and growing (as stated on another thread), AFM, 6DOF and full clickable cockpit. Those things alone encompass the ideals behind a sim. Take into that consideration with better ground textures and the "supposed" additional fixes to other areas of the sim outside of the BS that have been disregarded for so long. And that may be enough to warrant a look at the expansion in itself. Using the justification of the words "Fighter Sim" to denounce the BS add on is unfounded in my opinion. Purely becuase dedicated ground attack platforms have been an important part of this sim since day one. 1) BS is a dedicated ground attack platform. 2) It fits into the realm of battlefield that Lockon has created. 3) It may be the most indepth simulated aircraft in the lock on world yet and possibly the most indepth helo sim in the entire genre. For those reasons alone, it is a justified expansion wether its your idea of fun, or not. Of course. This is all conjecture as i, like many, have no idea of what it will be like. And until then i can only go by what i read (which sounds promissing). But i will not purchase it until i understand a lot more about it in case it does suck monkey butt. As for your last statement that no one will purchase this when FO comes out. I am not sure i share your sentiments. FO has no planned release date. My estimations would be end of 2007 earliest (but i could be horribly wrong). And the first release will be the UPT training only. Combat aircraft will be released in the addons later, provided the original sells to expectations. FO sounds on paper what I and a lot of people want. It has set itself a very high standard. Yet it still won't encompass PC helos (well not for some time). Therefore BS will still hold a place in the market for some time. Even if it is only to a neiche market. But who knows.

  6. So as others have said, Protos: If you don't like it, don't buy it. To be honest, having seen the holier than thou attitude you display (and the crap you post) on both this forum, and over on the Il-2 forums (dunno if you're still as active there since I haven't been to their forums in a while) the community would be better off without you. Just incase you don't get it, let me spell it out for you: No one gives a damn what you think. Black Shark will be what Black Shark will be. If you don't like it, move along. Posting your bile and insulting members of this community won't turn Black shark into anything different. Save your money for Fighter Ops if you think that'll be more your style.

  7. Then dont buy it. From what I have seen on the forums, most dont think as you do. What other 'fighter' sim, also has a Helo? A flight sim isn't limited to fixed winged, so to me it fits into a 'flight sim'. I think BS will be a much bigger success than FC was. I love the Su25T, but this Ka-50 is just so unbelievable. And I think that most who dont think they would enjoy flying the Ka50, will once they try it, to a great extent.

  8. You know what this might be.. I think somehow the Model file itself has been renamed so the F16 model now has the name of the A10. Not sure how to fix it though if you don't have the original files you may be looking at a complete reinstall. Edit; Oops ..Brit's got it.. sorry didn't see your post.

  9. A skin can't force that happening, it has to be a model. Have you still got the A-10 model in game? If so, then your A-10.cmd file has been overwritten with a renamed F-16 model. Get a proper A-10.cmd and write it back. If not, then there's a line in your A-10 MeInit section telling it to show an F-16 3D model in the Mission Editor. Think it runs something like shape="F-16". Find that tiny little block and delete it. As to how it can happen - when you install a Loman mod, it backs up the files you're overwriting to a certain folder. If you install the mod once, it'll remove the A-10 model to a backup folder, put the F-16 model in it's place, and be done. If you try and install the mod a second time, it'll move the A-10 model (which is now an F-16 model) to that backup folder, overwriting the previous backup. Your backed-up A-10 file is now an F-16 shape, so when you uninstall it doesn't have an A-10 shape to move back ;)

  10. Regarding extra's or add-ons, the list is vast: Can be sourced at http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php, http://www.lockonskins.co.uk/, http://562.50megs.com/LOMAC/, http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=17&lang=en, http://666th.co.uk/news/index.php, too name but a few. Sage advice would be to pay special attention to http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/news.html . Invaluable tutorials and training videos. Edit: Apologies for repeating web-links WhiskeyRomeo - typing at the time you posted.
