  3. Several potential solutions have been submitted to ED pretty much the same day that Prophet posted his rant - this was done in the beta forum. At the same time, some of us went a step further and contacted some people inside ED directly about this. ED is looking into it, and we're days ahead of this thread in terms of 'doing something about it'.

Да без проблем .. всегда помочь рад если могу .. вот трек http://ifolder.ru/1259484 там у ф-15 ни каких шансов :) топливо у меня 50%. еще в треке показана не правельная стрельба (короткие очереди) сделал это чтоб показать как бывает заманчиво стрельнуть, но не стоит т.к. это напрасная трата БЗ..стрелять надо когда точно уверен что поподешь т.к. БЗ в ганзо ограничен :) конечно трек не мастерский, но для демонстрации приемущества свивания топлива пойдет.. как видно из трека я мог бы еще воеват и ваоевать со своим остатком топлива :) П.С. Противник в треке (Ф-15с) с задачей завоевания превосходства в воздухе с назначеной целью на меня, уровень противника превосходный.

  5. The russian helo doctrine of the "flying BMP" covers the great era of the Mi-24. The initial Ka-50 project has been designed considering the drawbacks of the flying BMP. It is meant to fly in 4-ship wing low level using terrain and tree masking and fire ATGM at stand-off range before being detected. The wing has datalink to transmit target data between helos, the Shkval komplex provides stand-off target identification and aiming. The Vikhr is the weapon that makes stand-off attack possible. However the combat debut of the Ka-50 in Chechnya in 1999-2000 has proved that this conception is hard to achieve good results in complex landscape and the couple Ka-50s have been almost unable to perform indipendant target search, identification and destruction. That's why they have been supported by a specialy modified Ka-29 as a targeting platform and combat controller. This somehow proves wrong the single seat helo doctrine because a Ka-50 pilot has dificulties in target aiming in complex terrain and almost zero capabilites in the night and has forced the developement of the two-seat Ka-52. It has also has the Shkval complex but it features night capabilites as well. The latest doctrine of the Kamov combat helicopters is a wing of 1 Ka-52 and 3-4 Ka-50- the 52 mainly serves a wing controler but it retains full(and even better) attack capabilites. Thus the commander flies the 52 and depending on the tactical situation decides whether to provide targeting for some of the 50s or to attack in his own. Despite the Mi-28N is now in serial production as the main Russian Army attack helo the Ka-50/52 will also go in small serial line(10-15 helo in proportion 1:3) for Spetznaz support in special counterterrorist operations. IMO the Kamov helos will be more busy than the Mil's, I hope I'm wrong though.

  6. @ Prophet: I don't disagree with you about the principle of cheats/exploits ruining peoples funs, and I personally cannot comment on the ECM thing as I exclusively fly A2G in the Frogs (I know ecm does feck all for me I must say), what I DO disagree with is your attitude. My view is that as a tester you have a responsibility to support your game title/developer and promote solutions (like GG), not throw your toys out the pram and say "I'm never playing online if I dont get XYZ what I want" - its irresponsible as well as childish. I won't say "all games have cheats, deal with it", because that isn't constructive, and I'm sure if you're a fighter jock the ECM must be a big issue (33-35 pages supports that I guess), but at least try a positive attitude buddy. EDIT: With regards to online play, the use of any exploit cannot be policed due to a lack of dediserver or ability to block a dynamic IP. We have all sorts of problem people visit our 2 servers, which Zorlac kindly works to maintain, but removing problem people usually proves impossible. So, for any exploit, be it ECM, flying <10m, PRTSCN or whatever else, these issues cannot be policed. That's the kicker for those squads who go to the effort (and it is significant) to put up public servers, create missions for people to fly and do their best to make it a decent play environment. When someone complains to server-hosts they won't fly online any more, without the tools to actually address the issue, it's irritating. As a tester you of all people should know better, both the limitations in policing and the effort it requires to host a public service...because that's what all the LO servers on HL are you know, a service! By all means don't fly on our servers (or anyones), or uninstall the game I don't care, but don't be ragging on server admins/squads to do something they can't ever achieve (re: server rules, missions briefs, bans etc). PS: Warnings or 'kudos' of a forum poster are irrelevant, I can't imagine why you focussed on that :music_whistling: @Rugg: I'm sorry but I'm sure I don't need to read 30 more pages when the essence of the issue is repeated ad nauseum in the first 5. I don't disagree with the issue around cheaters, and I'm in no position to have an opinion about the ECM thing because I only fly A2G, what I take issue with is Prophets "toys out of the pram" approach which, frankly, is reprehensible from a tester. If people want to wear the label of "tester" in a public forum then my expectations of them are that they have a duty of care to (A) find bugs and exploits (?) in the game and (B) to support the developer and their hobby by promoting a positive attitude of the game title they've signed up to test. Whilst bug finding etc might be limited to certain release dates/versions/parameters, if one continues to wear the label then they should continue to meet those responsibilities. Again then, I agree with the issue of cheating, it spoils peoples fun in all games (since all games have cheats/exploits), but I disagree with his attitude when IMHO he should be more supportive...or at least come across as something other than a 5 yr old because he has a problem and no (immediate) solution. I've had my say in this thread and won't respond further, I've made my point that I don't agree with Prophets attitude (I don't disagree with his opinions specifically). I'll go back to happily move mud in my Frog (or playing SupComm which has the attention of what little free time I have lately:()

  7. Not true... AWACS can't see thru hills and mountains like back in LO 1.0 but they also don't take horizon into account. Horizon is something that acts like an obstacle IRL so altitude is very important matter for determining RMax of AWACs aircraft. If you fly 1000m ASL you won't see far (horizon is cca 50 km away) but if you fly at 10000m your horizon will increase to cca 250 km. Same thing happens with AWACs abd radar signals. Best AWACS presented in game is E-3 Sentry, it has most powerful radar signal strenght and biggest range (cca 350 km), while Russian Mainstay and E-2 Hawkeye sometimes can't see fighters flying at 40 km distance @ 200m altitude. I can't speak for sure if this is true or not IRL, I never gained any reliable info on AWACs systems but I know that Russian VVS relies on EWRs more than on Mainstays but those EWR datalinks and radio comms don't work at all in 1.12a...:doh:
