Chill Just my opinion, you folks can take it or leave it as I won't be upset either way: Everyone should just chill out. These online flight sim brush wars are cyclical and they really don't help the community at all. Everyone gets into hissy fit mode and then types things they shouldn't. If you don't like the product, don't buy it. If it is a stand-alone or doesn't have all the features you want then don't buy it. If you feel you've been slighted then use your most powerful response, don't buy it. If you feel that you are so important and so critical to the community that you have to sling your ill will about one forum on another forum then perhaps you need to really chill out and realize that you might really be taking things and yourself way too seriously. If you are a moderator and you have been banning people for spitting on the sidewalk then maybe you need to chill as well. It's a tough job being a mod and you have to eat a lot of crap, but you knew that going into the job in the first place. If you really think that the guys at Eagle are just out to get your money then you really haven't been paying attention. There are easier ways to make a buck or a ruble. I would recommend that the mods and Eagle let things cool down for a few weeks and then reconsider all the bans they have made. While I am sure most of them were totally justified, it doesn't hurt to give some folks a second or even third chance once they have had a time out. Hey, just my opinions, I could be wrong. So, you don't have to "buy" anything I am saying either. Have a nice day.

As far as modelling active radar missiles goes the AMRAAM in LO is the same as the R-77, with a couple of figures adjusted. From reading these forums for a while it seems to me that (ignoring the AFM Su-25 & T): In LO there is one SFM flight model (carried forward from FLanker), tweaked to suit each plane. In LO there is one (Fighter borne) radar systems model (carried forward from FLanker), tweaked to suit each plane. In LO there is one passive radar seeker AAM model (carried forward from FLanker), tweaked to suit each missile. In LO there is one active radar seeker AAM model (carried forward from FLanker), tweaked to suit each missile. In LO there is one infra-red seeker AAM model (carried forward from FLanker), tweaked to suit each missile. Whatever systemic faults one has so do the others to some degree. Which is why asking for some fixes is impossible without a re-write of the code (of course some fixes don't require this, just a qualitatively smaller allocation of man-hours) & which is why we should encourage ED fix the easy stuff for LO/FC in a patch (if there can be such a thing in software development) to begin the next series (the Flanker/LO successor) that won't have these limitations, rather than hoping for the present series to 'morph' into something it can never be. Don't get me wrong - I love LO (ask my girlfriend :-), but there are limitations built into it that need a fresh start to overcome. regarding this: It's not that the AMRAAM is So Much Worse, than other missiles, it's just that the people who use it have higher expectations of it & are more vocal

Not matter how good the system is, dodging a couple of A-A missiles will be hard, be it an AMRAAM or a modified Hawk, it may dodge 3 of them, but then the fourth will go boom. But then again, this plane is made for multirole, not air superiority, don't expect it to be some mini AWACS, it's just a great asset for strike and SEAD missions, shooting down an occasional Mirage-2000 or Gripen. Not to start aerial WWIII, that's the F-22's speciality.

Trust me, you dont want to go down this road trying to figure out why the AIM-120 is crap in this game...then end result will not please you, especially concerning LOFT or any guidance issues with the 120.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm a 'sideliner' too, I come here to just check news on LO or BS cause I'm a fan as well. FWIW, I think the entire flight simming community has been spoiled by IL-2. Not all of us our fanboys of both IL2 and LO but a good deal of people play both. Oleg has put out a whole ton of free patches and planes, it's just insane how long they have been updating IL2. IMHO, I think it's pretty much spoiled everyone into expecting free planes, more features, endless updates regardless of what sim. cheers
