  2. What you are experiencing is not a bug but a feature. It's called Automated Training Assessment Unit (in russian "Нет преступления, предназначенных, мой друг"). Since there's no two-seater trainer version of the Ka-50, some way had to be devised in which flight instructors could evaluate overall student aptitude during their first flight, from a safe distance. The ATAU is cleverly implemented as a relatively small probe situated in the bottom of the pilot's seat. It consists of a very precise accelerometer that measures force on the probe, and yields a fail-proof assessment of the pilot's suitability during a solo, AP-off hover. This accelerometer is then connected to a series of electronic equipment that activate a plasma field generator outside the helicopter located in the tip of the right winglet. The plasma field would in turn then polarize the light bouncing off the Shark's surface according to the electric signal generated by the mentioned equipment, generating a color coded response that you appreciate as "brown". This is of course fully modelled in DCS:BS. When the Red Army pilots where initially introduced to the BlackShark, they where delighted by the advanced targeting systems but expressed some concerns about the appropriateness of the mentioned instrument. Kamov's scientists then found that by using less reliable equipment in some other areas they could spare enough generator power to install a more advanced, pupil dilatation measuring device on the HMS. The airmen where much more satisfied with the enhanced prototype and the Army approved the mass production of the Hokum. When the first units got delivered to combat squadrons and the pilots found they had to keep a mental track of the times their lasers where used, during combat, and that they'd have to find a way to take a 30 minute pause in hostile airspace while their targeting equipment cooled down, Kamov's internal mail system collapsed with energic requests to bring the probe back, bigger if necessary. Kamov's top scientists where at the time quite busy figuring out a way to make a coaxial tail rotor helicopter with no main rotor, (poker bets where taken very seriously in Soviet Russia), and the job of modifying the production units was then assigned to a lower team of "interns", a management innovation introduced from the West by a then young politician with a strange forehead birth mark. The interns, of course, took the pilot's request literally and installed back the probe, never replacing the laser system. They where proud of their efficiency and developed a strong team spirit that helped them very well cope with their next assignment in deep Siberia. All this matter did not make the Red Army specially happy, they would discontinue the use of the Ka-50, and some of the more radical elements even suggested using the Ka-50 as a test probe for the now not-so-young politician ability to govern the country. Luckily for us all, the moderates triumphed and after a casual light cold, the politician was deemed not necessary any more and the world became the multi-polar paradise we enjoy today. As for the DCS:BS implementation, this feature is the reason why you must combine a series of key presses in order to force the virtual pilot to take a seat. In the default mode the pilot will stay comfortably enjoying a warm coffe in a Starbucks near Mineraln'ye Vody giving you a very slight finger every time you fly by. DCS AI is not so dumb, after all...

  4. actualy, the mod will be mixed for the 27, 33, and 25t like the english mod. the 29A is full russian and the 29s full english. vekkinho proposed me to make the full russian version of the mod and considering the quantity of work that i still have to do, i thing that is a good idea...

  6. Sorry ED but the transparent trees shouldn't have been in the original release. And especially NOT for a Heli Sim. Wouldn't have mattered too much in an aircraft sim but in a Heli sim its a huge mistake and a BIG flaw. At least have the balls to admit it!

  8. Quite nice. Response is smooth, accurate, the torque change / collective input / to expected yaw is very nice. The Flight Model is unique and interesting. I tested an engine out emergency and the sim just performs. Overall, this product is solid and what I expected from ED. Indeed, the best helo sim to date. Oldflyer2, give it a try. I played Longbow and Jane's just did it right, way they did with all their sims and too bad they don't produce anymore. But ED did this sim right too. Don't be fooled by that thing called a vertical stab in back. It won't do the same as an ordinary plane, main rotor system overpowers it, and aircraft are different period. The thing just has to be trimmed right and good to go. I would like to see a true neutral trim that allows full collective application without lateral instability requiring input correction but nice to fly something other than a plane that needs trimming. The cockpit systems from start-up to go time is fab. Also good to see some vindication from ED introducing more Soviet-block birds to the genre. :pilotfly:

  12. В теории возможно, некоторые цифровики умеют работать как вебкамера . У меня был канон S2 он имел такую возможность, в отличае от теперешней вебки он ни когда не тормозил . Олимпус sp-510UZ точно не умеет Самсунг NV3 точно не умеет .

  14. Well... to be honest im a little dissapointed. The listed improvements to the ME are pretty limited and havent removed the labour intensive nature of making half decent missions. Theres been no attempt to improve ground ai behaviour (lets face it there is no ai behaviour unless the mission author goes to the extravagent lengths to manually 'script' it with thousands of triggers, even then many vital trigger logics are missing still ) Things like branching waypoints, waypoint actions, trigger rules such as group % alive, % dead, side % alive/dead, group sees enemy etc are all still missing and these are just the bare essentials to make the ME acceptable. One can only hope the editor gets its own patch at some point, and soon, because it is the crux of sim content and replayability. And i won't even speak of the possibility of dynamic campaigns given the aenemic results of this patch.

  15. Ну не то чтобы бред... просто у каждого свои запросы и свои возможности. Иногда в самом деле проще купить удачную вещь и пользоваться ей сразу (сразу!), чем выдумывать, чертить, делать, ошибаться, переделывать и так далее. Правда, когда делаешь сам - получается в итоге правильно, потому как для себя, любимого :) В целом - таки да, для "полетушек" за компьютером удобнее какое-то спец. кресло - в простейшем случае автомобильное. Но все это неразрывно связано с общей эргономикой "рабочего места" - наличие/отутствие педалей, тип и расположение джойстика, наличие/отсутствие РУД/РОШ и так далее. У меня, например, автокресло, самодельный джойстик закреплен сбоку (a la F-16), отдельный РУД/РОШ и педали. Удобно. Но точно знаю, что если неподготовленного вирпила (причем очень грамотного и профессионального, если можно так выразиться) посадить в такие условия, ему будет очень некомфортно. Купить на авторынке б/у кресло от девятки проблем по финансам не составит. Во всяком случае, это куда лучше, чем типовые офисные седушки. Но нужно учитывать и другой момент - помимо виртуальных полетов, за компом выполняется и другая деятельность, для которой как раз офисное кресло (например) - самое то.
