  1. Right. New RepUp regulations makes no sense at all. You can't give reputation for most of the posts... even for those where someone actually does something for the community. For example: Dragons Missions pack @ http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1407162#post1407162 Makes no sense, I want to RepUp him, for he puts an effort and dedicates his time to help the community and when I try to rep him I get the silly "Sorry, you can't..." Gent's, new rep rules is an obvious overkill. And I got repup for typing "Good job ED, keep it up!" in "A-10C takes SimHQ best commercial flight sim award" Now, how is that an achievment worth being repped?

  3. Hello, I was under the impression that these AI choppers were extra smart, and the minute that they had me, would be my demise.. Same as you guys.. But today, as I progressed into the campaign, mission 8 of deployment, I noticed that these Mi-24's So, I decide to use my wingmen as bait.. I let them proceed to task and rejoin/RTB (don't remember), and as soon as they called out the Mi's, I turned towards their o'clock reference, having them max zoomed in on the ABRIS. Now the two bastards were going through the valley leading with the twist to the Northeast of the AO. I hug the ground, and start visual search with cockpit zoom maxed out. Then I suddenly notice 2 gray things next to each other, moving in sync. At first, I shiver, and as they came right on top of me (I'm under 10 feet AGL, practically whooshing waters of the river all around me), they did not fire. In fact, they engage whatever threat is closer to their patrol zone and not anything else unless being lased and getting LWR signals. Luckily for me, I have not locked them up, yet.. So, I do a quick centered rotation to face their rear, and get enough altitude to bring them to my HUD and shkval limits, to permit sustained visual and tracking. As soon as I'm high enough, they break their formation, and start maneuvering... Now one of them I lock quickly thanks to pressing both uncage and designate together while moving my HMS to get the bastard in view and to my surprise, it worked! In a heart pounding manner, I spam both AA and Hemisphere on the targeting panel. And I already selected the long burst mode for the vikhrs, I get a C and phoot... First bastard goes down and I could see his chute next to the burning wreckage. The second Mi-24 manages to flee before I get him locked, and so I again, duck to the ground, using all nearby elevations as mask and silhouetting. Proceed under 90 KIAs to the AO, in hope of finding the darn devil. Start looking at an arc of 8 to 4 o'clock. He actually starts to show up the minute I overlook the AO from the cliffs to the southwest. I get him locked, and pop 2 viks into his face, and the bastard totals me with his cannon but gets toasted as well, and crashes.. I lost just the main hyrdaulics, with the AP channels starting their crazy flashing, I set her down rough, and punch out. So, what did I learn from this? Mi-24's can't spot (or at least can't shoot immediately below their fuselage) specially when you're hugging the ground and under 1 nm. Do not engage the laser rangefinder unless you got him locked. As soon as I flashed them, they became aware. Mi-24's are indeed difficult to spot, but it is easier to actually acquire them based on directional feedback from your wingmen. And most importantly, as soon as they're called out. And ultimately, when they're above you. Mi-24's service ceiling is 2500 feet AGL. In that regard, the Ka-50 ceiling is 4000 - 5500 feet AGL. But the looking down part becomes tricky, and he is also armed with an air-to-air, which you don't have. Whenever an air threat is detected, hug the ground at once, cove in a canyon, start the turn towards the o'clock position and knock that zoom in button right in. It is easy to spot him if you're moving under 40 KIAs, but beware, he is still a threat no matter what you do.. Use your wingmen as pawns... and make note of their position and heading relative to you with the ABRIS. zoom in just about enough to get the entire shipmates into view. Weapon pre-setting is crucial. Perhaps the most important feats would be the long burst switch, the AA, and the Hemisphere buttons. When you're getting him on the shkval as a smoke, he just fired, and when you get him as a flash, he just fired his cannon. Both are serious.. Always have those settings up when air threats have been detected. This is not a guide, guys... More of a.. trial and error... So those rules are not cardinal, and not to be used unless you know where they are ingressing from. I hope this track works, but I doubt given the serious nature of the track playback issues in the game.. Anyways, here it is... If I get toasted before I get both down, rest assured that whatever written above happened.

  4. No, thats just how long they can maintain fire for. Just re-assign the target once their rate of fire starts to slow. They will take 3 minutes or so to prepare, but once they start firing they will resume at their higher rate of fire.

  5. Yeah, the big posters seem to be "protected". Probably how they got all their rep. Reminds me of certain government workers. Personally though, I wish they would get rid of neg rep. It just starts personal fights and pisses people off, and the big posters use it to destroy any beginner they don't like. In a word, you end up losing new guys from the board, and your products.

  7. Wishful dreaming... I'd love to participate in the "study sim level" battlefield with all the units in it as a separate products. For example, today you feel like tank battle, you join battle in your Abram’s, you get three of your mates in it and off you go, or T90, or Merkava or... Someone else maybe feels like AH64 or Mi-28... someone feels like Su27 or F15E... Catch my drift? One battle, two commanders, lots of fun... Wishful dreaming... Hopefully in my lifetime...

  10. I think the reason for the crash is obvious: lots of people, vehicles and objects around runway - he must have gotten a terrible framerate hit upon touchdown, stutters and lag and before he knew it, he was on the grass. I must say the fog and dense (volumetric?) clouds didn't really help things either + plus all those spectators around runway taking screenshots by hitting PrntScrn. All in all, considering the circumstances, he made a fine landing, although I'm not quite sure how he managed to leave the cockpit without ejecting?

  11. Yes, I do use laminated paper. I use a hole puncher with different size to punch out the holes. I bought it in Sweden. http://www.jula.se/haltagningsset-189021 No idea about freq displays on radios.... I use momentary push buttons to change frequency in one direction!! Dont have any support for decoders yet! I post 2 pics of my old wooden radiopanels so you can see how it was done. Now they ar much nicer :D

  13. Ok, as to why the radios don't work, there are no friendly units at the airbase you're spawning at to set the coalition to blue. I added a Patriot battery, that should fix that. Additionally, this mission is known to have a trigger logic error that will in almost all cases prevent it from working as it was intended. I fixed that too. Please tell me this fixes your issue. Khashuri Gap Coop 8 editted, for forums.miz

  15. LoL BIS forums are death???? You must be living on another planet. New Mods and addons are made everyday... New people post things everyday, old people are still posting since Operation Flashpoint, new Beta patches comes out atleast once a week. Please dont tell lies because you personally dont have a clue where to look.

  16. The really important settings in nVidia Control Panel are as follows (everything else is just fluff): Max PreRenderedFrames = 1 (0 screws things up, 3 is useless) MultiDisplayMixedGpuAccel = Single Display Performance Mode SLIRenderingMode = Single GPU Threaded Optimization = On ( I know the debate.. but trust me, it gives me 5fps) TripleBuffering = on VertSync = on But really, it's a matter of what your preference is between performance and quality. I personally shoot for quality, as my rig is pretty stout. Check this page out. It will explain what each of the nVidia settings do so you can set them to your personal preference. Be sure to try changing your "Digital Vibrance" setting. I've found that it makes the terraign look a lot better. My personal settings:
