  1. I'm with the choice that any aircraft would make me happy. But.. Being realistic. It only makes sense that the DCS compatibility with FC2 suggests that fighters aren't really the priority of ED...at least not yet. The best, more logical choice for the next DCS airframe is the BAE Harrier II. Even though the aircraft is mostly carrier based, it can easily be introduced as land based. Still, it would be an excellent opportunity to introduce minor carrier ops. Actually, now that I think about it, the X52 would work excellent for the Harrier. The throttle would obviously still be used for the aircraft's throttle, but the precision slider would work perfectly as the vent handle.

    Apply skins?

Thanks Achurro. Fortunately I've already installed the skin (the steps you listed). Sobek, thanks to you also. That does narrow it down a little. I guess ModMan doesn't have a "apply skin" option like DCSMax where you can use any skin for any mission?
  3. I've just today started using ModMan, but I'm a bit curious where to apply a new skin installed? Thanks in advance.
  4. Having the options between built-in clients would be quite nice, yes. Also... The best statement made in this topic ^
  5. http://translate.google.com/#
  6. I was wondering about this myself. Watching a column be attacked and all that happens is the rest of the vehicles go around the destroyed one...wtf. No defensive posture at all.
  7. Indeed! I know there are some who favor FC (there are a few topics about it) and then there are those like myself who are completely happy flying Black Shark. Mixing the two together will be incredibly fun, not to mention the cross-over comms between each, as you suggest. Then again, if it's all attack pilots, there would be a bit of encroachment, but if there is a fighter element active while we're in the mud, that would rule.
  8. That's like calling FSX a patch to MSFS '04.
  9. It takes what, a year to introduce a completely new airframe? So if LOMAC is scrubbed for DCS models as what you suggested, then import what, seven planes? That's 7 years of wait time to get up to where they're at right now with FC 2, just under a new brand. Screw that.
  10. I also would buy #3
  11. A thousand times, this.
  12. Lock On only? The website says Lock On/DCS.
  13. Very nice. Thanks Luke.
  14. I remember having the same issue when I started. My tower is headed to the shop so I don't have the settings available to give you. What I did is clear the axis settings for the HOTAS in the game options itself, then configured the Saitek settings for the throttle slider in my profile. Hope that helps.
  15. Hey now, some of us have had days where we see more of the parachute than we do the pit
  16. The training series is simply epic. A site I'll gladly link to from my own. I look forward to your videos Fabio.
  17. You know, I love learning all the ins & outs of the game & want to fill my brain-housing group with all the system functions, but even I can crack a smile at the light-hearted approach to these tutorials (or burst out laughing at the last one). Being a novice myself, it's nice to see others cursing at either silly mistakes or unexpected events. Misery enjoys company & it makes the newbie feel not so alone in their trials. Waldo, thank you for adding your non-elitist flavor to the pool of video tutorials & look forward to watching more. Please do adjust your sounds though. The comments being washed out by the engine is kind of a bummer.
  18. Although I like your video, if this is the turn-around time for future releases, there is no way I'm paying $50 for what can be learned by reading the manual & tips you can get from your squadron mates. Honestly, a year?
  19. The pilot called it "The Shark".
  20. I really have no idea how the developers are mapping out the Apache, Hind & other multi-seat cockpits for their planned simulators. One would hope that they set it up to where it's multi-player per airframe to keep with the realism (something they're obviously getting known for). My wife isn't big on flying, but she loves watching stuff being blown up. I can't think of a better "front seater" than her & have no doubt she would join in. As far as BS is concerned, it being a single-seat makes it a great "starter" for their DCS series. Falcon is a tough sim to top, but the market didn't have a helicopter "equivalent". It was the best aircraft to release at the best time. Whether or not that was their strategy remains to be seen, but it worked out damn well for them.
  21. TrackIR - For sure. Track Clip Pro + TrackIR 5 HOTAS - I too use Saitek & it would really take an impressive piece of equipment (as in realism) to pull me away from the company. X-52 for sure. Don't bother with the new X-65 IMHO. It's too "peter pan" for the cost. X-52 works perfectly. PEDALS - I use CH & haven't used anything else. They've held up well over time for me personally, so I can't complain. Multi-moniter - It is absolutely NOT a must. If you can swing it, by all means go for it, but don't get wrapped around the axle over it. Desk - Pft. Stack phone books, who gives a rip? All that matters is if you're able to play the game.
  22. Welcome. Glad you like.
  23. Eh, made one but since we're not using them, I figured I would finish the set, then offer it to you all. Soviet shoulderboards with their english titles. Edits to add: Meh, adding blanks so you can add your name or whatever if you want.
