Just in case you don't have it... Game Booster -
Yeah, I would send mine out usually at 3km, but he would usually get smoked. I started doing more "snooping"--starting at 1km, then going further based off of what he found. It takes a bit longer obviously, but it greatly extends survivability. As far as sending datalink data, mine seems to send all except the last one found. If I call for another recce, THEN the last data is sent. Then again, I still use 1.0.1 (and plan to be until 1.0.3), so I don't know if that's fixed in 1.0.2 or not.

Grats on the new X52 Pro. If you don't have a lot of room under the desk, get the CH Pro Pedals. They're not as wide as Saitek and they take quite a beating. I plan on switching over to Saitek at some point, but I can't complain about these. As far as non-pedal use in a helicopter sim..lol. To each their own.

Best paint scheme ever.
-
Yeah it does. I used to do that, but the SOP for the folks I'm with use the "T" to denote which side of the FARP will be for arrival/departure. It helps avoid crashes. Besides, I kind of like the challenge of cross-wind landing. Sometimes things go really smooth, others I end up fighting the aircraft. All in all, good practice.
-
Yup! There's a lot less Colonel's over there these days. I can't imagine why. Well said GG. A huge difference between a "sim" and a "game". Agreed. I honestly don't think so, but I'm not 100% positive. EVERY topic should have a DCS: Harrier discussion going on. Even still, an Apache would be fantastic.
-
Damn, I thought I was close. Welcome back. Hopefully you're still in one piece.
-
To tower...inbound. To tower...land At a FARP, I would approach like a fighter pilot would. First, I note the direction of the "T". Fly over to a 180 break to burn off energy (good practice for high-speed turns). Depending on how much altitude/energy remains, I may round off my base leg. Approach the FARP on the "T" side while trying to not slip in a VRS, or be blown way off by a crosswind (which at times can be worse than VRS). I'm still doing it a little ugly, mostly on the final.

I've tried this -so- many times but ultimately just wound up being frustrated at the sloppy thumb-on-my-weak-hand movement. It truly does take a LOT of practice. Kudos to you all who take the time (and have the patience) to master it.

Agreed. Yup, as explained here... http://theos.in/internet/howto-add-vbulletin-rss-feed/ Making the following URL the RSS feed for your Announcements Forum... http://forums.eagle.ru/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=105

I'm kind of at a loss why it would seem like an issue at all. Does moving your mouse not work? Do you have a clickable pit? (Alt+C...don't remember if it's Left or Right Alt key).

Wow, I actually was looking at getting my oldest a HOTAS since he likes watching me, but he would tear it up. That one would be perfect for him. +1 Thanks for sharing jbeam.

My first time trying any type of voice was in SOCOM (the first one). I remember late nights cussing at my TV screen because Boomer wouldn't listen to my commands, then trot right along in my line of fire. He deserved to die, but still. It really seems interesting though to try this out with BS. I just need to work out some personal issues since that idiot Boomer kind of left me traumatized.
-
It really depends. For BS, X52/Pro is by far more than adequate. If you're looking at getting into the A-10 after release, eh...I'm sure it'll still fare well, but from what I've gathered, a good portion of the community is getting into/has got into the split throttle sets. I would (actually intending to) stick with the X52. It's quite versatile. I really can't comment on any other HOTAS since I'm pretty much a happy little biotch to Saitek.

Override grapics card question and Shkval

View Attached image You would also want to enable "Mov Gnd Tgt" as well if you're tracking a moving vehicle (button catty-corner to the one highlighted in the attachment). -
My point is the action to "break out" of a dead stick is hardly the intended function. That's what makes it odd, not the symptoms of apparent wear & tear. Still, you're probably right & good to know for troubleshooting. I've just never had a problem where my stick did that.
-
Exactly. You can enjoy the game without TrackIR/other view utility, but the most enjoyable experience will be you behind a good HOTAS that responds well to your input. As far as pedals, I'm not sure I would agree with their lack of usage. I use the hell out of mine...besides very minor adjusting, the rudder is used in every turn. Hell, I use rudder before I start my bank. I could fly np without TrackIR, but I wouldn't bother flying a helicopter without pedals personally.

The same could be said about his current junk controller. Suggesting he gets a utility to look around (only) over something that will vastly improve not only his piloting ability, but cockpit manipulation too is putting the carriage before the horse. In this sense, I agree with Bumfire... If he gets a good HOTAS as well as an alternate (free/cheap) tracking system, he gets both his choices at the same time.

1. Patch the latest release over a fresh install. 2. Training did disappear after 1.0.2 unfortunately...but you can do dual installs (one 1.0.2 and one 1.0.1) on the same computer with just one activation. It's a little bit of a pain, but still the best alternative. Don't forget about the producer's notes (videos) too. 3. X52 profile is really hit & miss. What's good for one will be crap for another. It's best to just build your profile up yourself. While building your profile, I would suggest... Custom Tooltips Mod Pit Trainer And another from Bucic - X52 Printable Button Layout Hope it helps.
-
Nope, I just release/center stick and pedals & carry on. It seems odd that you have to "shake it into play".
-
I'll be the odd man out and say invest your bones in a good HOTAS. Playing with a crappy stick is irritating as sin and heaven knows that when you get used to something for a long time, it's a pain in the ass to introduce a big change. Get the HOTAS out of the way. Yes TrackIR IS simply awesomesauce...but you don't HAVE to use TrackIR. There are alternates (in one case, free) that you can use until you have another stash of cash.
