Here comes the move to the "Wish List" thread! ;)
-
Though I always want more, as do we all, ED is far more communicative regarding product progress than any other (software) company that I'm familiar with.

Depending on the power of the lens, that jet could be 50ft. behind the building, or it could be a mile, more probably the latter. Simple telephoto compression, or, perspective distortion. I've haven't seen a group of people so worked up over a relativley benign photo in a really long time. B6 better come out soon or there'll be blood on the floor!! (Not a threat from me, just an observation of the anticipation and tension creeping into the forums!)

Problem with Warthog Throttle
SonofEil replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm just waiting for mine to brick now, expecting it. This kinda sucks. Let me ask, was there anything you did prior to it bricking, or did you just turn on your computer and the WH didn't wake up with it? -
Problem with Warthog Throttle
SonofEil replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
They'd respond almost exactly 24 hours after I'd send them an email. Obviously not too bad, but they also don't listen/understand very well so there were some redundant time-consuming emails. All told, it took me about a week to get my problem resolved without having to send in my WH. (thank god!) (Hasn't bricked yet...*fingers crossed*) -
Sorry Viper. My search was quick (leaving for work, at work now!), and obviously inadequate!

I finally have landed on the side of wanting a pilot. This is why: I never fly with one because he gets in the way in BS. But today, I finally made a short FRAPS movie in the A-10C and...where's the pilot?!?! Now I see the need! I wonder why it's not something yet mentioned by the ED team. Such as, "We're working on implementing a pilot, but no promises." Or, "At this time there is no plan to include a pilot." It would put this thread to rest.

Beta 6 Update? What's up with Wag's update page? "Beta 6 Update", but the former Beta 5 list? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1094144#post1094144 Am I crazy? (And no, I don't see beta 5 at the DCS website. Still B4!)
-
I don't know about that! I hadn't flown the Black Shark in about four months because of the A-10. I hopped back in for the first time on Wednesday, and I...know...nothing! I'm having to completely relearn it! Granted, the learning is going quicker this time around, but still, I'm surprised at how much I've forgotten!

I had no idea what "D" did in this so-called "Game Mode", nor do I plan to use this information at any point in the future!! Now, let me ask, how do you even know this information? Were you kind enough to look it up for him, or is there something you'd like to tell us about the way you utilize this fine simulation? I'm going to to view your future posts with mild suspicion. (I kid... ...or do I?!) ;)

You know, I miss Alaska more than TX, but I will probably end up back in TX eventually. Family is there. And yes, it is an indisputable fact that Texas has better looking women!
-
Google "Accusim" I'm not personally familiar, but it looks like they're putting out some fantastic study-quality products. That B-17 looks amazing!
-
In fact, if you cut Alaska in half, Texas would be the third biggest state! (fyi, 20 yrs growing up in TX, 8 yrs in AK, and I'm too ashamed to post where I live now, but I'd take either of the former any day!)

No Throttle or Stick axis assignment on left in axis commands
SonofEil replied to Pappy's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Maybe this will help? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61018 I'm not sure, but it helped me with a similar problem. -
I watched a Frontline documentary on tweakers. You guys have bad skin. Personally, I like getting beamed to the notch!

Do a calibration check. Download TARGET and open the Script Editor, then click on Device Analyzer. Give your stick a wiggle (tee-hee!) and if it's centered properly you should see X=32768 Y=32768. If you see anything besides those numbers, your stick is out of cal, which I'm going to bet that it is. Sooooo, go here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65901 And grab the calibration tools in that post. My WH had the exact same problem as yours and it turned out that it was way out of cal. I had to contact TM and after about 30 emails they sent me the calibration tools. Why aren't they part of TARGET, or at least available on their website? I have no idea. I tried Windows Device calibration and it didn't work at all for me, but the TM cal worked perfectly. I don't use TARGET either, except to verify my stick is still centered from time to time. It's useful in that regard because the Device Analyzer in the Script Editor gives you the exact readout in "bits". 0 to 65535. That's why you should see 32768 when you're hands-off the stick. Download TARGET for no other reason than this! EDIT: BTW, there are separate Throttle and Stick tools in that thread.

Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with me. It's the simplest things some times. Now it's time to relearn this bird! Thanks guys!
-
Nope. It's my DCS:WH setup, so I don't use the AB bar. I haven't hopped in the BS since WH came out and I'm trying to relearn/reassign everything with the new HOTAS, but I can't get the collective to recognize throttle inputs. I found a couple of profiles here in the forums for the TM WH and BS, but they're all built to use TARGET. I don't use TARGET because I much prefer to assign everything in-game.
-
Hello. Can anyone tell me how to assign in-game the TM Warthog throttles to the BS collective. It doesn't seem to correlate to any of the "Sliders" in the list. I don't use TARGET, and I don't plan to. Thanks!

Say you have two LGB's. Change the default laser designation code for one of the bombs, and also on your own TGP laser. Then have a JTAC laser a target with the default code. Drop both bombs, laser with TGP, and you should hit two different targets with two different LGB's at more or less the same time! Poof! Right?!

Make one. My first refueling attempts were in a simple mission I made with just me and the tanker. The tanker has 100nm between waypoints at 18,000ft. I placed myself a few nm away at 14,000 ft, found tanker and then spent a few days trying to connect with him! I eventually got pretty good at it...until I got a TM Warthog! I'm having to relearn with the more sensitive stick. I'll probably have to put in some deadzones or curves, as suggested in other posts.

Actually, the 6 Sigma attainable goal, which I've seen achieved, is a defect rate of 3.4 per million opportunities. This amounts to 0.00034% defect rate, or 99.99966% defect free. Very far from 1%, or 2%. 3.4 defective parts per million isn't the industry norm, and I wasn't intending to apply 6 Sigma to TM, but 0.001% defects is a very realistic number for a new product launch. 1 or 2 percent is an extremely high number, in any industry, usually necessitating a recall. But again, I don't know TM's sales v. service figures and I doubt (hope?) that they're not that high. (Keep in mind that 1% is 10,000 failures per million sold, 2%, 20,000! Unheard of!)

+1 I heart Canada! (Mower, it sounds like this winter's been tough on you! You're "fecking" all over the place tonight!) And on topic. I also noticed some, um, unexpected "lateral wiggle" in my WH throttles. I wouldn't go so far as to say they feel cheap or flimsy, but it doesn't feel like they have the same attention to construction as the stick. But, again, I'm very happy with mine! I don't agree. A quick search in the serial number Sticky shows 4500+ sold. I'm guessing that they're dealing with a problem in the neighborhood of 0.5%, but that's just a guess. (As an aside. I don't know TM's sales figures vs. returns/replacements, but even a 0.5% defect rate in the manufacturing industry is an enormous QC failure. 0.001% or better is a realistic goal for most applications, new product or not.)

It can't be too bad if you're still flying it!:music_whistling:
