The AGM-65G is an improved "IIR Maverick" for the USAF. It is based on the AGM-65D, but uses the heavy warhead and fuze of the AGM-65E/F because it is especially designed for use against hardened tactical targets. The AGM-65G also has a new digital autopilot and improved tracking and target selection options. The new autopilot allows the operator to select a lower trajectory to prevent break of lock in clouds. The AGM-65G entered operational service with the USAF in 1989. The AGM-65G-2 is a -65G with the guidance software replaced by a modified version of the AGM-65F's software. Like the AGM-65D-2, the G-2 also has a faster seeker for higher accuracy and moving target tracking.

i most also add that locking on certain target even with target dead center on TV requires a distance of about 2.5-3 miles to get any lock acquisition. major culprit is the (Strela). if didn't know better i would say they are trying to stop a-10 attack on SAM targets :). and just as stated i too am having problems moving the targeting cursor, its very, very, very slow. ohh and did i mention that the magnification is pretty low targets at a distance of about 4 miles still look like a dot in full magnification.

i just have one question, how do u stop auto pilot from intefering with my rudder input....i apply rudder then the heli just turns its self back to the original position

The battlefield is getting crowdy. Enemy airbases will not hold for long. Ka-50's and Su-25's sneak in and take out the infamous machine-gun sam while the A-10's take care of the firing raining BMPs . Airfeilds will be won and lost in quick succession.
