  1. Good to know. I have definitely seen the "blow up if you touch before the first wire effect". Yes, I have!
  2. No Worries. Something I have been meaning to work on for some time. Glad to hear that it's not just me that finds it a challenge.
  3. @Rudel_chw. Ok I will have to practice. I have only managed it once, and it felt like it was more by luck than design!
  4. Hmmm... OK. I will think about that. The dirty little secret is that I use the time code on the screen to sync the video to the mission time line. I actually make several recordings of the mission and then cut them together. I can probably find another way to do that. Appreciate the feedback.
  5. ... and speaking of the Stennis and the A4. Sorry couldn't pass up the segue... Here is a link to a video that I made to showcase the A4 mod and some of things that you can do with it. This video (which features some video footage of the Stennis) is actually a review of some other videos I have been making that show the kinds of missions you can fly with the A4. Take a look. I'd love some feedback. I'd also be happy to hear suggestions for the subjects of future videos.
  6. Skyhawk Tips and Tricks Here's another video in the series. This one is a bit different - it uses the previous videos as a tutorial about the Skyhawk. Happy to have feedback. Let me know what you think. Let me know if there are any particular weapons or situations you would like to see.
  7. Wow. High praise indeed. Thank you.
  8. Hmmmm... no one seems to have gotten the pun in the wingman's name in the SnakeEye video. Really? Did I make it too hard for you guys ;-)
  9. Thanks. I really appreciate the feedback.
  10. Snake Eyes at Sunset Just posted the sixth video in the series. Have a look for some low-light low-level flying. See the Nav Computer and the radar in action in profile mode. And of course, watch us drop some Snake Eyes right in the face of the enemy airfield. Feedback always welcome. Let me know what you think.
  11. Alpha Strike And here's another installment. With some additional voice acting this time. It's short and sweet, but with 12 A-4's firing Zuni's and dropping bombs, its a busy 4 and half minutes.
  12. Thanks. I really appreciate the feedback. Now up to 4 videos. The latest one features the AGM-45's and also the nav computer and the radar - which also don't get a lot of love on YouTube beyond some basic tutorials, but are actually very cool technology for the time.
  13. ]I love the A4 Skyhawk and to celebrate the update to Ver 1.4 I have been working on a series of videos to "simulate" the Vietnam era Rolling Thunder missions. Hopefully they will link together to make an interesting story. If folks like them, I will turn them into a campaign for others to download. Here is the first one. Let me know what you think and subscribe to follow along
  14. Thanks. Have you tried the WWII stuff? I don't have that DLC - not sure it would be worth buying just to get the guns that are listed in it. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
  15. I probably already know the answer to this question, but I thought I would post here just in case. Are there any AAA assets beyond the ZU-23 and and ZSU-23? I would like to make some missions representing the Vietnam era for the Skyhawk (really love that plane). Accounts from the era are pretty clear that AAA was the biggest threat, bigger than SAMs or enemy fighters. The accounts seem to indicate that the 57mm variety was particularly deadly and that it could reach up to at least 5000'. The 23mm units that I can find in the ME, just don't seem like they simulate that very well. They are just too low level and short range. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks.
  16. Looks like it's being worked on. I'm on Steam so will just have to opt out of the Open Beta until it's fixed. It's really not workable in the planes I like to fly. I guess that's why they call it "beta". Looking forward to the fix.
  17. +1 Glad to know it's not just me. I spent an hour last night going through all my monitor calibration settings to make sure I had not inadvertantly changed something. In the end I turned the gamma setting on DCS down from the recommended value but it's a work-around not a fix. The problem is particularly acute for the AOA indexer and the caution and warning panel in the A-10c and the AOA indexer in the A-4E. They are almost unuseably in this version. As a general comment, that I can't quantify, I find the overall lighting to be much brighter and there seems to be a lot more "haze" when looking towards the sun - giving everything a more washed out appearance. Hopes this helps.
