What position is bullseye?
ChillNG replied to d0ppler's topic in F-16C Last Out: Weasels over Syria II Campaign
You can set your bullseye simply in the DED, it is populated automatically in the aircraft, no need to worry about steerpoints. All you need do is hit LIST on the ICP, then 0 (for more) and 8 (for BULLS), the press 0 M-SEL to highlight bullseye in the DED. Your bullseye is now set and will be visible in the HSI/radar etc. BTW, Portal is the same for both campaigns, but it's listed in the SPINS should you ever need the coordinates, not that you should. -

I think that's just really bad luck on the timing. The missions are very dynamic in their design, with multiple different game systems all working independently of each other, but also impacting on one another. So in this mission the SAM activation/deactivation has a number of variables in, affected by what you've done in the mission. All that is to say it can be very difficult to adjust the timing on these things as there are so many variables at play. I will however have a look to see if I can adjust anything, just no promises.

Glad you enjoyed! Hopefully learned lots for the sequel, you'll be tested eventually more!

Mission 7 - Crazy wind
ChillNG replied to ZACHI's topic in F-16C Last Out: Weasels over Syria II Campaign
Ah ok good to hear, could never reproduce or pin down this one so was hoping that for those having the problem the recent updates had solved it. Glad you're enjoying! -
Have Bug send a HARM to give you a window to attack. Attack from the west, I recommend looping wide to the west around the airbases (Damascus IAP and Marj Ruhayill) to avoid those threats and then toss a GBU-38 at the radar as soon as you can.
-
Yes that's as intended, you should go after the Fishbeds. To be fair not something I'd given much consideration, I'll have a think if I can implement something in case anyone else does the same.

Mission 2 - no Flight Plan -
ChillNG replied to Barbarossa's topic in A-10C Operation Persian Freedom Campaign
Try it without going into the mission planner, it is not recommended to use this. -
No they don't magically appear, they start quite a long way away and chase you down, the AWACS calls tells you where they are. You've 2 options, put them at your 6 and run clear or stop to ID them, and then fight them once ID made as hostile. If you stay to fight, you can't engage until they're declared hostile, but try to keep them at least in a neutral position, don't let them maneuver behind you to take an easy shot. That way once declared hostile you don't start at a disadvantage.

Mission 11 Advice
ChillNG replied to Gilligan's topic in F-16C Last Out: Weasels over Syria II Campaign
My technique is to find the target with the target pod then zoom the pod out to get a wider view, you can then figure out where the target is in relation to the wider environment. For example if you know the target is the second dot left of the road it makes it much simpler to target with the mav seeker. -
Mission 11 Advice

What are you struggling with, identifying which target is which? Or getting the mav to lock on? -

Fixed internally, seems the Migs getting a missile off at the eagles was triggering the players involvement.
-
Ok good to know, might look to expand the zone a bit more then
-
Just checked through the triggers, I have a trigger set up to automatically select the 'depart and RTB' option if you get too far away from the operating area. Sounds like this is what is happening, once you accept this tasking make sure you stay within 25 miles of the pop up threat, I've attached a picture of the zone below, if you leave this zone before killing the targets, the departure trigger will activate. This has never come up as an issue before but I can see that if you hold near Tiyas it could be a problem.
-
Ok thanks, I'll have another look through, see if I missed anything,
-
Might you have chosen to RTB by mistake? IIRC you have the option of not taking the tasking, sounds like you might have selected that option.

LOWOS - Campaign Review
ChillNG replied to HIGHLANDSPRING's topic in F-16C Last Out: Weasels over Syria II Campaign
Thanks for the in depth review, very much appreciated . -
Yes, magnetic IIRC.
-
Thank you! Yes I have already found that out about Modex, is corrected for the final version, thanks!

Contact departure at 5 miles, be under 1500 feet AGL and on runway heading. Following instructions then turn 085 and start climbing, you'll get a heading check at 14 miles, so make sure you are on heading, departure will say "continue on 085" if everything correct. Then be at altitude (25,000) by the time you are 30 miles away from Incirlik I believe.

They are just as written in the Spins so nothing to add from what's in there. If you can provide a track that might be easier to pinpoint where you're losing points, I'll happily watch through and see

Still playable in 2025?
ChillNG replied to Viking 1-1's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
Yes you can skip missions without any issues from the campaign menu.
