So long as you're getting responses from approach, arrival and are requesting landing then all radio calls should be covered. You've also got various restricted area/rules to comply with, stick on tower freq after landing and I think you get told if you've broken any of these. If you've not seen it a full scoring guide is available as a PDF on my website, https://www.groundpoundersims.com/vault

Thanks, yeah most likely culprit, I couldn't reproduce.

Yeah that looks fine, that route won't be an issue.

No not intentional, I'll check the mission, thanks.

HADS page not locking targets
ChillNG replied to ouseler's topic in F-16C Last Out: Weasels over Syria II Campaign
It's the way the Viper works, I think there's certain circumstances where you can't designate on the HAD. IIRC when you have mark point screen up on the DED is one of them. -
Thanks, that's great to hear!

So if it helps...there is an immortal option for a reason, no need to get yourself so frustrated over a single mission. The missions are also very flexible and robust in how they react to your performance, if you can't kill a SAM and the strike is called off then so be it, you all live to fight another day and move onto the next mission, you can always revisit it later to go for a higher score. I suspect you did something wrong when asking the wingman to engage with a HARM, when you make this request then the option to do so will be removed, and there will also be a failsafe trigger that will deal with the SAM should the AI go rogue. If you managed to make the request multiple times I wonder if you mistakenly used the F2 wingman menu? There's a play through on YouTube that Connos has done, could also help.

Are you cursing zeroing after targeting the SA-6? Sounds like you're not clearing the offset in the target pod from what you described. There is no way to verify you're on target without seeing where the pod is looking, you've just got to be super confident in your process to drop through the cloud. It can be done and is certainly an option, but I wouldn't do it personally. There are enough gaps in the cloud that you can maneuver to get an angle to view the target and there's enough space beneath to drop below as well if you need to. Also be sure your CBU has been properly aligned before dropping. If you have any more trouble free free to post a track and I'll happily watch it through and see if I can give any more pointers.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed! Fingers crossed!

No activating your ECM should reduce the range you get locked up at. What you do with the onboard jammer won't affect the jamming by Spartan, that all works independently.

Hi, thanks for the comments and thoughts, glad you've enjoyed the campaign! To answer your points the best I can: 1. Yes you can avoid the dogfight by running east, just keep your speed as high as you can and you should get away easy enough. The Migs will turn back once you get far enough east. 2. Your wingman is holding north of Damascus, the SA-10 is south of Damascus so the HARM will take a little time to arrive overhead. 3. Can't help anymore on this one, if they got shot down a SAM must be active, there's no behind the scenes trickery going on. 4. Just focus on the SAM/location that is called out, if someone needs help south of Damascus then go after the SAM to the south. Don't worry so much about the striker, just focus on the SAM itself and put yourself in it's MEZ to take the pressure off the striker. 5. I'm happy with the loadout, got to think about drag/fuel burn as well. Running out of missiles and bombs and having to close with guns or just play bait and dodge SAMs for a while is half the fun! Mission 9 is my favorite too!

Yeah its an odd one, its no heavier or lighter than any mission from the mission editor side of things so must be something odd in there, hopefully I'll find it.

Thanks guys, hope you enjoy the missions so far!

Was just updating it, should have still been online but maybe you tried as I was publishing the update. Up and running now, just checked.

So Portal is the code-name for the standing theater bullseye, when 'Portal' is used it will always be referencing this specific bullseye. 'Bulls' is a more generic term, it might get used interchangeably with Portal when the bullseye is set as Portal (depending on what I felt when I wrote it probably), but it will also be used when the bullseye is set elsewhere, as it sometimes is. 'Tight' and 'Loose' refer to confidence in the positions of the SAMs. Tight means a higher degree of confidence in the stated position, loose a lower degree of confidence. Hope that all makes sense!

Ok thanks I'll investigate a bit more, nothing different about this mission behind the scenes as far as I can recall, but I'll dig into it and see if can find any obvious issues.

Still playable in 2025?
ChillNG replied to Viking 1-1's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
Absolutely , I take a lot of pride in keeping these working. It's not set on the carrier so taxi directors are not an issue. And of course don't take my word for it, I'm biased, but I do offer mission 1 as a demo for all my campaigns so you can decide for yourself - you'll find them at www.groundpoundersims.com. -
Been a while since I flew it, but IIRC I went for rockets or guns most of the time. APKWS is good for picking off the infantry closing on the compound, no harm in going with an unguided salvo either so long as you're careful, especially over the open fields. I believe I built a suppression element in to the mission as well, so as long as you keep scoring hits, the advancing infantry will stop moving for a while, buying you some time. The infantry being close to the building for too long will result in the friendlies getting killed. And no-one asked but indulge me...this is the mission where my greatest ever DCS moment occurred. During testing I was 5 seconds (literally) away from triggering the friendlies are dead ending of the mission, so fired off an APKWS on the heading I just happened to be on (no time to line it up), then used the laser to curve the rocket around the crane and onto the target, saving the day. Definitely not to CAS protocols, but it was pretty cool.
