  1. There is a lot a variables caused by the pilot and gun employment/modes, it's really easy to spread the grouping just by engaging PAC when the aircraft is not stable or when it's submitted to control input wobble or bounce, I also seen a lot of pilots engage targets while the airbrakes are deployed which disables PAC, all those things can reduce accuracy and grouping tightness by a large margin. I always had those results even in the past, to me nothing or very little has changed gun wise since I first flew it on beta years ago, if you use the gun cross with PAC at proper angle and range it will yield groupings of around 40ft which is right on par with the specs of that weapon
  2. So how do you explain my runs that had a consistent 40ft radius at 0.7nm? According to your post I should be doing close to 150ft which is obviously not happening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Did you see my test run I just posted? 17 mil? Would be something like 150ft radius at 1200m, which is ridiculously large... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This footage is less realistic than Armageddon [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. From wikipedia: "The GAU-8/A accuracy when installed in the A-10 is rated at "5 mil, 80 percent", meaning that 80 percent of rounds fired will hit within a cone with an angle of five milliradians; this equates to a 40-foot (12-meter) diameter circle at the weapon's design range of 4,000 feet (1,200 m).[16] By comparison, the M61 has an 8-milliradian dispersion." Did a 30 deg, 0.7nm(1296m), 200 rounds burst using the gun cross with PAC just in front of that middle truck which are spaced at 40ft in the editor, this is properly modeled, 80% of the rounds at 1200m in a 40ft circle, did many runs some were better than others but this one is the cleanest one I have done and it's pretty much what you should expect... The pilot has a lot to do with the gun accuracy With the new DM I think you will get to see an improvement on the effectiveness of the GAU-8 with the proper damage state being modeled, like I said before even with no hull penetration, anything will sustain heavy damage from a burst like that and will be very likely disabled if not destroyed.
  6. Damage states, exactly my point, the gun is properly modeled it has always been, it's just that the way the damage model was built in the engine back then was never intended to model disabling or damaging different systems of the tank like the canon, sensors etc, anyone that thinks any MBT would drive away like nothing happened after being shot at properly with 200 rounds of 30mm AP/HE combat mix from the high rear lives in a dream :megalol:
  7. It's not a T-90? A modern tank?
  8. p1t1o As you can see on this picture after 200 rounds from the GAU-8 coming in at around 3500ft/sec, everything on the turret will be blown to "smithereens" (sorry ED :smilewink:) and this tank is going to be disabled since it will be very hard to engage anything with no periscope, no antennas, no sensors, no external machine gun or even with a damaged track, even if no rounds have actually penetrated the hull, thus disabling the tank and making it vulnerable to other attacks, in other words you're done, and that sir is not being fanboyish it's being accurate and realistic... 200 rounds from the GAU-8 will disable and probably destroy anything that has wheels or tracks regardless of armor protection. Like it or not
  9. The spitfire is a short range interceptor with a very defined and limited role, intercepting enemy planes, the mustang on the other hand is a multirole high altitude long range attack and escort fighter that can do pretty much anything very well, only surpassed by the P-47 as it is the best multirole aircraft of the WW2 era
  10. Yes and other very cool modules in the near future, all the new models being developped right now are going to make module developement a lot faster in the future and bring other modules to whole new level like the new IR modeling for the A-10C and the litening :D:thumbup:
  11. Apples and oranges, regarding A/G operations the A-10C is a pure CAS/Tank buster platform with lots of station time, as for the F/A-18C it's a deep/precision strike and anti ship platform, fast in, fast out. Cannot compare the two at all, it would be like comparing the Spitfire and Mustang, two different planes for different roles
  12. p1t1o probably thinks a MBT is some kind of magic vehicle that cannot be damaged or disabled unless it blows up like in a Michael Bay movie, attacking a tank from the high rear is going to wreck and disable most of the sensors/systems exposed on it and if only one round pierces the main hull it's going to bounce a lot in there until it loses it's energy, disabling the crew. Modern tanks like the T90 have reactive armor "blocks" that protect it from kinetic weapons, repeated rounds like the GAU-8 are canceling this effect since they trigger the reactive aspect on the few first hits, after that it's the regular layered armor that has to protect the tank from hull penetration, which again is not necessary to disable/destroy a tank, I would doubt a T90 with 200 rounds up his arse would be very effective to continue battle as if nothing would have happened, and very unlikely to be able to continue to engage any targets, older tanks like the T55 with it's 30/60mm turret and 16/33mm roof armor would be swiss cheese in an instant :blow: ED will do research and probably come up with the best damage model ever made in a computer game this far
  13. Hi McMicha, I noticed today the fuselage tank indicator for the P-51D is not working, did you fix that in the new version/export also along with the few other things in the german ww2 birds?
  14. Big thanks and also thanks for your great work man really love it :)
  15. The new damage model will solve all these issues, as for the GAU-8 power a 150-200 round burst high from the rear at .7-.6nm will disable if not destroy any tanks on the planet, that said it's not properly modeled now since the old way of damage modeling was never intended to do that
  16. Also I have a couple gauges that are not working like the MW press in the 109 (190 works) and both O2 press gauges in the 190 and 190 any ideas? By the way great software who ever did that it's awesome! :)
  17. I use very thin double sided tape, there is no gaps between the MFDs and monitor and it's very sticky :)
  18. Thanks for the quick response guys!
  19. Anyone knows how to interpret the wind symbology? How much is a little bar? 10 kts? I 'm looking for 25 kts WOD and putting the carrier at 10 deg off to get true 25 kts WOD thanks :)
  20. Thanks a lot man was looking for a separate command for the rate of fire for a long time! :)
  21. They said only the articulation sphere can be bought separately I'll call them again today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well after 8 years and thousands of hours my warthog stick has died :( articulation sphere broken and magnet tower broken, tried to repair it but the tower is beyond repair, anyone has a solution a part from buying a new base from TM? they are not selling the top part with the tower separately... :joystick::joystick::joystick:
  23. Here's my setup :)
  24. Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5 I did finaly take it with my buddy _alone_ lol So I understand now why it was not capping even after destroying everything and inserting troops lol Asterix and Obelix were in there [emoji23] But even the magic potion is no use against the mighty GAU-8 [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. +10000000000000000000000  Looking forward to round 6 with all the REDFOR guys! Was awesome!!! Great job on the comeback! BLUFOR you put out a hell of a fight and I enjoyed every second of it! Hats off to every player I encountered I Was amazed at the level of coordination and teamwork achieved with basically strangers from all over the world, which have now become friends :) The CGI position with CA brings a level of immersion not achievable in single player or on any other "standard" servers. This is what DCS is meant to be and can only grow better with time thanks to all the exceptional work of Xcom , Greg, Crash, Ciribob and all the input from all the players, I can't wait to see what round 6 has in store for us! See you all in round 6!!! :gun_smilie:
